I'm mixing a test of Vanilla Carmel trying to duplicate the vendors recipe. I absolutely do not get tired of this. I think this stuff has really helped getting off of cigs but anything probably would have worked.

So, I'm trying to suck VG with an 18 gauge needle and I'm fighting with it and the needle comes off and slowly sinks to the bottom. Rats!
I think I need a 14 ga(?). Nones my syringes or those unruly pipettes could get the job done. This VG is mighty thick.

Another question...I'm not sure that I'm going to cut down my 100% PG, 48 mg. I'm trying to do this mixing but I sure would like to have the nicotine in a short fat bottle with a big opening than a tall bottle which can spill much easier. Anyone do this or are you set up totally different?

Actually it would be cool if you have a mixing station and a picture.

Thanks

BTW, I love this mixing. It's one thing to smoke a cigarette, quite another to grow your own tobacco.

OK, time to try the morning mix sans nicotine.

Hello!
The mail got here an hour ago, and I made my first bottle of juice. I chickened out on using nicotine on the first one, so I could get right down to business. I found a calculator on line for measuring, and just skipped over the nicotine part. The VG is very thick and sticky, so I over-poured a bit too much. I will go to Hobby Lobby and get some different kind of measuring device. I used the flat stove top to make the juice, and I didn't take a picture. I made honey and pears. I tasted it, and it tastes too weak, but it's not gross.

I buy big bottles of PG and VG but transfer amounts in 30ml bottles so I dont keep opening the big ones and keep them germ-free

Then,as stated,I put them 30ml bottles under running hot water,go bother the dog a few, then come back to it.

I keep all my bought juice bottles so I sometimes pour some in those 10ml ones and just empty them into the bigegr 30ml (I now go for 30ml batches when I feel DIY).

I dont say its the way to go,but the ways we all developped over time could help others to develop their own

Heating and/or a few drops of water and/or get a 16ga. syringe from a farmer type store, they use 'em on animals.
I sanded/filed the tips off for my safety. An eyedropper with measurement markings will also work but the largest I
could find was 1mil., really, who wouldn't want to dump 2mil. of liquid into their eye now?
It'll work for small batch measurement though.:vapor::vapor:

I need to sand down those needles. I'm learning that pipettes must have a learning curve so I'll have to get those down or most likely just use syringes.

So Calif
I have terrible luck with pipettes  I have a HUGE needle on a 3 mil syringe that is blunt for VG in small amounts. I usually mix my regular stuff in 120 ml batches so pour VG into a 50ml cylinder, repeat for as much as I need. I use a smaller one for the flavorings so they can be exact and a syringe for the nic itself.

I put nic into 30ml cobalt blue botles with the safety gadget inside the lid. I got nic in them originally with my first DIY kit. I buy it in big bottles now and transfer it into the 30ml bottles for use and for storage. Reminds me I need to buy more, going to start stocking up on nic.

I stopped using needles when one popped off the syringe while dispensing VG. Ever try to clean VG off a keyboard?

I have bulk (gal) VG & PG that I transfer to 120ml turret top plastic bottles using a funnel. Then I just remove the syringe plunger, place my lil' finger over the tip and fill from the 120ml bottles. Works for me!

Onestopdiyshop has a wonderful 14ga 3" luer-lock syringe needle (blunt). I order it with the 5mL syringe (measurements in .2mL). I wrap the syringe in clear box tape to prevent the measurement markings from rubbing off.

Good idea with the tape. I just ordered a 14ga from one stop..and a few other things that will make life easier. FlavorArt is kinda pricey. Anyone use it?

I don't know nuttin bout DIY but I'm still gigglin over the title of your thread!!

when you get comfy with all this......make me a wonderful strawberry pie with whip cream flavor and I'll come to Austin and buy it from ya! lol

I tried strawberry alone but I think I'll double the flavor. The creams and custard type flavors don't work for me. I'd like to know how to use them without being over rich. Hard to explain. Like Ms T's Snickerdoodle cookies was great but it was too rich to finish a small bottle. I wish real life was like that! I found some in a Walmart deli area and ate the whole container on the way home.
