Got the RY42 and the straight-up menthol today...
First, I want to say that the menthol is quite fantastic... very strong... flavorful... killer throat hit... nice base... I will buy this one again. People who like Silver leaf menthol or COV Menthol tobacco will love this one.

The RY42 is quite a surprise... definitely a base similar to Casablanca and love from above... A slightly arid, floral turkish tasting base... almost like a desert ship... less sweet than love from above and less dry than Casa (OMG, I sound like aaron = dry ;-) a must try for the casa and Love from above crowd...

Overall, I am most impressed with the performance of the Moondrop liquid. It's an atty sizzler at 50/50... great vapor and TH...
A few drips goes a long way in my LR 510.

If you have tried them all and feel hesitant trying another new company... I think this one is worth a try for you...
It's well made... flavor tends to lean on the strong side... can't tell what flavoring company I'm tasting - it's familiar - yet the taste of the juice is somewhat unique.

LT,

I agree---well-made, strong taste, and unfamiliar flavoring sources.

And the thing I come back to every time I vape any of the four Moondrop juices I have is your last point: these are unique liquids. Probably not for everyone. Some days they even stretch my envelope. Still, I like 'em and am quite impressed with this vendor.

I received my Moondrop liquid today and I have to say I'm impressed. The juice is high quality and the customer service was unbelievable!

I ordered RY42, and Straight Up Caramel. 3-4 days after ordering I received an e-mail, he was sorry for the delay, and to pick out another 10ml. I went with Straight Up. A few days later I get a $2 dollar refund on shipping. Today I get the order and there is also a 3ml sample of Mulled Cider and Moondew. To top it off there were also two 510 mega battery starter kits with charger in a hard case. All I can say is WOW!

This is a high quality juice, very well described by Lasttango. The RY42 also reminded me of PV's Love from Above. Straight up Caramel is great, to me, better than the RY42. The sample of Mulled Cider was a good surprise, very nice apple cider flavor. This is one I probably would have never tried, but I will be ordering more.

All these juices have awesome vapor, and good throat hit even at 11mg. I will definately be ordering from Moondrop vapor again.

Got my flavors in and I have been giving them a test drive. Some great things here!! I see that many have been reviewed in the past so I'll probably tag onto those reviews, but if they have not been done, I'll do a new one.

Curious if anyone got their pickle drops and what they thought of it. You know I'm really curious and I'm a huge fan of dill pickles. Remember those big ones you used to get out of a barrel at the supermarket when you were a kid. Those were the best!

I'm glad to see that people have been enjoying moondrop's liquids. I'm a big fan. I've reviewed a handful of their liquids, if you're interested there is a link in my signature.

Straight up and SU Caramel are two of my favs. I really like all of the tobaccos, actually. Lately, i've been vaping a lot of their Mango, which is odd for me, because i almost never vape fruit flavors. I'm a tobacco vaper 90% of the time. But that mango is just so damn tasty. I've been vapin it in a tank with a 3ohm boge carto @ around 5v, and it is delicious. I finished the 10ml of mango, so i started re-filling the tank with moondrop's watermelon, and it is a great combination.

Paul is indeed a nice guy. He's a customer at the bar where I tend, and I've seen the thorough testing through which he puts any products he is considering selling, and the many many revisions of liquid flavors until he gets it just right.

I'm glad to hear the CS is so good. I'm not surprised that this is the case, but i've only interacted face to face, so it is nice to hear.

Oh, and the Dill Pickle? I very hesitantly tried it, expecting it to be gross. It was surprisingly tasty! Just like a crisp dill pickle! A very different vape. I'd be lying if I said I found myself reaching for the dill pickle bottle very often (or at all since i tried), but if the mood ever hits me and i find myself saying "ya know, I wanna vape some dill pickle," I know that I have a spot on dill pickle vape.

Just out of curiosity, how did you guys hear about moondrop? Other than my reviews here and at VF, i'd never seen any mention of moondrop on the forums. Until today, the occasional google search never turned anything up other than moondrop's site and my reviews. I'm glad to see the name getting out there. Paul is a good dude, and he's got some really good, unique liquids.

I ordered based on this thread, I got the straight up caramel, menthol, and ry42. I've only tried the Caramel so far but I really like it. The tobacco reminds me of BWB, it has kind of a pungent cedar note to it. The moon drop tastes grassier and more mild than BWB to me. Everyone says it smells like maple syrup but tastes like the name.

Pickles?...I finally got around to trying it after a good steeping. Just out of the box, it had a perfumey odor that told me to put it away. Well, got it out last night and I couldn't believe the difference. I took the plunge and loaded a 2.0ohm Boge with it and started vaping. It tastes just like the old time barrel pickles from when I was a kid. Good flavor, vapor, and TH. Now I can have my pickle and vape it too.

From their website:

The flavors are our own designs. We do, in some of our Juices, add flavors procured from a third party to our mix. In those cases, they are specific flavors that are used as part of specific mixes, and are obtained from specific vendors. Depending on the flavor, we use one of two sources for obtaining the extra ingredients. Both are well known and highly respected in the industry. The first is FlavorArt, who are based in Italy. The second is The Flavor Apprentice, based here in the States.

The Mulled Cider and Straight Up sound really good and I love real tobacco extracts. The only thing that worries me is the possible use of FlavorArt...really don't like the taste of their flavorings. I am going to place and order and keep my fingers crossed! :)

Glad to see more people ordering from Paul at Moondrop. His flavors are spot on I think and I have fallen in love with more than one of them. I think he may even have some new ones coming out soon. :) He is super to work with.

I have to give the pickle another try. It has been sitting for a few weeks. When I originally received it, it was very perfumy and didn't vape well at all. Time to pull out an atomizer and give it another drip test.

moondrop's got some killer new flavors in the works. paul stopped by the bar I work at recently with a few samples of some new flavors, and all three were great. they're still doing some tweaking of the recipes, but even as the juices are now, i really enjoyed all of them. in general, i'm a tobacco vaper, and i really enjoy moondrop's tobacco liquids. but somehow, moondrop keeps getting me into their sweet liquids. I love their mango, and the new one's i tried are sweeter than what i normally vape, yet they hooked me instantly. good stuff.

The three new flavors are "an exploration of sweetness:"

Hummingbird Wine
Aphrodite
Smith Barn Sticks

I've got 3ml sample bottles of each of these not-yet-finalized-and-still-being-tweaked liquids. They are definitely not "standard" or "typical" juices. Like all the Moondrop juices I've tried, these new ones carry Paul's signature, which is difficult to describe in words, although it's instantly recognizable to the tongue and nose. I guess I'd have to call that signature a certain exotic tanginess. This is more of a "note" than a flavor, per se. It's not really sharp or biting, but it is focused and provides a point of reference around which the rest of the flavors circulate.

Initially, I concluded that this signature note came from Paul's use of Tobacco Absolute, but there must be something else going on, because two of these three new sweet flavors aren't tobacco juices. Anyway, the signature is unusual but good, and I like it.

These juices aren't overly sweet. The flavors actually carry the juices, and the sweetness is nuanced and subtle, not bold or in-your-face.

My taste buds and nose tell me that the caramel in Aphrodite (my favorite so far) is probably the same flavoring used in Straight Up Caramel. To use a musical metaphor, it's the same soloist surrounded by a different group of back-up singers and studio musicians, but still playing in the same musical genre.

A number of hummingbird nectar liquids have appeared in the juice marketplace recently, but Hummingbird Wine seems a distinct departure from the two I've sampled. Pushing the envelope.

Smith Barn Sticks? What the hell is that? Google comes up with a reference to an obscure early-20th-century book written by a guy named Smith about curing tobacco by draping tobacco leaves over "barn sticks." And the juice has that same "Tobacco Absolute" slightly greenish-gold color as Moondrop's Straight Up line. Ergo, a sweet tobacco blend with a cryptic and whimsical name.
