In the very beginning, Tasty Vapor began purchasing its pure nicotine from Shaanxi Tianze Biologocial Co., Ltd. The first batches of nicotine that we were getting was rough at best. While it was pure nicotine, the extraction process used left a residual solvent smell/taste that was noticeable in our liquid, especially in higher milligram levels.

Through correspondence, e-mails and Skype chats, and being made aware of the growing industry, this company refined its extraction process and came out with a new (and more expensive) line of nicotine that purified the nicotine to the point that there was no residual solvent taste.

This allowed YOU to taste what Tasty Vapor did with liquids and not the flavor of the extraction process. This is what you have been vaping ever since. It has been VERY worth the cost increase.

The primary technician of this company has saw fit to leave and venture out on his own and is now refining his method even more and Tasty Vapor will be one of his first clients.

The nicotine is USP grade and slightly under pharmaceutical grade. This is a MAJOR step up from what we have been purchasing. I'm sure in the long run, he will find a way to refine it even more and produce pharmaceutical grade nicotine, but for now, what is being produced is an improvement by leaps and bounds and we are happy to be their customers.

We're positive this will make an even better difference in what Tasty Vapor is able to offer YOU in terms of a clean and more pronounced flavor in our liquids.

Rather than just make the change unannounced, we felt you were worth this bit of information.

No, not intense, but CLEAN!!! Not suggesting our stuff was "dirty", but the extraction processes can leave residual tastes ranging from unpleasant to "eh, not TOO bad", but there's always room for better and that's coming up soon.

It means less of a chemical taste, as close to pharmaceutical we can get (long story behind why we couldn't get pharma grade, I'll let you know if you ask).

And the price is more than reasonable. Plus, we've already established our rapport with the involved parties. I think it'll be a nice relationship. Works for us, works for you!

Why not? It's the quantity and storage. We have to buy smaller quantities to ensure that the nicotine stays fresh. The pharma grade that we checked into only sold a minimum of 1 30kg drum, which we have no means of properly storing.

We breeze through 10 x 1kg bottles of pure nicotine every other month, that we have control over the freshness.

Plus the company we contacted for pharma grade nicotine came boasting about their product and how we should be using them, they're FDA approved and which big wig companies they supply, then suddenly became wishy washy about selling us nicotine because of the controversy that surrounds ecigs and eliquid, which I thought funny because they solicited ME first!

It's a quantity, storage and quality control issue Sooperdrave.

We do the best we can given our means. This may change this year, it may not, but we will always keep everybody informed.

"nicotine is USP grade and slightly under pharmaceutical grade" is confusing. If it is USP grade it is pharmaceutical grade, I thought, that's the purpose of "USP grade" -- meets the US Pharmacopeia. If your nic is USP, then it is pharmaceutical grade, while if it is not pharmaceutical grade, then it is not USP.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Good disclosure on your part, a positive. Just seeking clarification.

Oh yeah, quite a while back it went into effect. This stuff is quite fantastic. Doesn't seem to oxidize as quickly as the previous stuff. Stays clear longer. Oxygen makes nicotine tan as would an apple, potato, avocado, etc., hence the more it is exposed to air, the more the color is affected. While it's still completely fine, it can effect the color of the liquid in the end. Doesn't affect the flavor in the least, but it can throw people off, i.e. "the last time I ordered this liquid, it was darker..."

The new pharma grade stuff seems to retain the clarity a lot longer. We're quite happy with it.
