Hi , im vaping for a few month, but lately im trying on differents e-liquid brands , i bought a nice portuguese brand wich is 50pg50vg and 6mg nicotine ,i tried at store with normal e-cigs and it was very good, but when i got home it was incredible strong to my throat and nose . I was vaping Joytech ry4 ( 60PG / 40VG) 6mg and it was good and smooth ,some people say that is the high ammount of VG is doing this to my throat with my equipment, this kind of situation happened with anyone of you guys? what is the perfect ratio to vape on a subtank mini 0.5ohms ? becouse i dont wanna make more mistakes when buying e liquids in stores .thank you

While I do not use a subtank I know many people who do use them with high vg juices of say 20/80 pg/vg.

I will add this, I vape around 10/90 pg/vg and I have used carto tanks, bottom coil and top coil clearos, gennys, and rbas, the only thing you have to watch when using a high vg is making sure you are priming the wick well and giving it time to fully wick the juice so you don't get a dry hit. This is an issue for me as I also chain vape, so have gone to almost exclusive use of good old fashioned attys.

I'd say, that it would be the PG and nicotine. The more PG, the more throat hit. And the Subtank, due to the fact, that it's a sub-ohm tank, gives you more of that kick and that nic. I tried my preffered 12mg juice in my buddys Subtank and couldn't manage it, too strong. That stuff gave me a cough.
The VG mutes the kick, so i'd up the VG rather than lower it.

sounds like a PG issue. i vape MAX VG in everything. i own 2 subtanks that work flawlessly. PG gives you a bigger throat hit. could also be the flavoring. really acid types of ejuice cause a throat burning feeling. like acid reflux.

if its 60 PG its really high for a subtank. you probly vaped in instore out of a iclear16 is some other type of cheap tester clearos. with a 1.8 or or 2.5 ohm coil. its a totally different vape with a .5 sub ohm tank.

But i dont understand , becouse my joytech ry4 is 60 pg and it goes nice and smooth, why the 50/50 is so hard ?

oh maybe i miss read the above post. i thought you were having issues with the 60 PG 40 VG? thats odd ive never heard of a PG being smooth.

check your coil is it black or gunked up? you might have a priming issue with the coil itself. the .5s are cotton and burn super easily. so if you didn't prime it right/let it sit for a few minutes you might have burned the cotton. even a little bit and youll notice it.

editL are you having issues with the flavor itself being strong? or it is just a harsh hit? it could be a few different things. i normally just go with PG right off the bat as that was one of my main problems when i started vaping. it could need to be steeped. does it say on the label when it was made?

I've been having a dilemma in terms of the burning on the throat and nose for quite some time. To me, I suspect that nic is my main suspect as I've tried pg/vg from 70/30 down to 40/60 and nic level at 6mg, 9mg and 12mg. I've now lowered my nic down to 5mg-6mg and have less or no burning even with a 70% PG liquid.

Another factor is the temperature of the liquid. When it's cold, I get more burning to my throat and nose. Therefore, I usually take light intake during the first few vape until the liquid/coil is warmed up. Once warmed up, I don't have anymore burning issues.

I use a 60 or 70 vg in my subtank with both the rba and .05 occ coil and do not have a problem with them as long as I properly wick them. I have had to reduce my nic level from 12 to 6mg because the way the nicotine is vaporized in the sub ohm coils though. Its a great tank, don't give up on it, just experiment with it until you find your sweet spot.

I had to reduce my nic down from 6 to 3mg when switching from an eGo One XL to a Subtank Mini
