Hey all, thanks for your time-

After finally getting the hardware I wanted, I just got my first batch of e-liquid in. The stuff I ordered along my VV Mod was a 60PG/40VG at 18mg blend that tasted sweet, but not terribly distinctive. I ordered the same coffee from them that was in my 510-style disposable cartomizers thinking it was the same stuff, but the taste was way off. Whereas I got a clean and distinct sort of "coffee-candy" flavor from the pre-filled ones, filling a tank with their e-liquid was sort of a generically mildly sweet taste, smooth with a moderate throat hit, and decent vapor depending on the voltage.

But since the guys I got my mod from aren't exactly renowned for their e-liquids, I figured I'd try a reputable ECF supplier for some other coffee flavors and amp up the nicotine to 24mg. It was/is a 70/30 combo, but when people here advised me that higher nicotine gave a 'slightly higher' throat hit, I wasn't really ready for the deep clouds of vapor and intense throat hit I got. Frankly, it was a little much for me. Combined with the fact that I'm not really getting a distinct flavor off of this juice either, I'm walking away with a few questions:

1) Between the 10% more PG and 6mg nicotine, is that probably where all that extra throat hit is coming from, or can that boil down to the flavors themselves? To make the best of a bad situation, I ordered another bottle at 6mg strength and was going to 'cut' the 24mg stuff with it to make a milder vape. No reason that shouldn't work, right?

2) The flavor-admittedly this is just three of literally hundreds of flavors out there in the wild world of vaping, but it almost seems like I'm doing something wrong. It's a Joytech DCT at 3ohms, and the best results seem to come in at around 4.2-4.6 volts for a nice balance of vapor and throat hit, but it still seems like the flavor is way off. Let it steep? Flood the material inside the middle tube with liquid? It seems with all the good reviews for the liquid I got, I should be getting something more distinct....I dunno, anyone older and wiser have any ideas?

1) The extra throat hit is coming mostly from the added battery strength and added nicotine. Yes, you can cut it down doing that. I also know some flavors change when they've sat for awhile.
2) You'll find that different flavors vape better at different voltages/watts. I think you're probably tasting more of the flavor now because of the added battery strength. Flooding the center of the carto is a no-no, and won't do anything to help, it'll just put juice in your mouth, and cause you to not get any vaper. Just because others rave about a certain juice, does not mean it's for you. We are all individuals and we have different tastes. I'd suggest you get some sampler sized bottles of various juices that sound like you might like, and find YOUR juice that way.

Thanks Kay (What's it like being a vaping Queen? Are there perks?). I guess I was a little thrown off since I wasn't aware how much of a difference the nicotine would throw in there. As far as the flavor thing goes, I suspected as much and ordered some samplers to try out. When I said 'flood the middle', I didn't mean the inner tube, but to really saturate the 'padding' around it-I usually would just put in about 8 or 10 drops and then fill the tank outside about 1/3rd of the way. Wasn't sure if this was enough to let the flavors shine through or it wouldn't make a big difference.

I began on 36 mg and it was fine. Now Vaping 8 mg. I was Vaping 60/ 40 PG/ VG but needed more TH. By merely changing my ratio from 60/40 to 70/30 I know can feel the TH. Some say PG gives TH but I, and many others, believe it irritates the throat. PG is known to ENHANCE TH so when you upped both you PG and Nic it was a double whammy. When I had I Provari I could lower my Nic level down considerably cuz with the higher voltage it just gave more EXCEPT some flavors were horrible at the higher voltage. Best to buy sampler packs untill you find the right juice. People think it's tough to choose a PV- ten times tougher to find the right juice. I prolly spent 100+ hrs researching juices before I bought anything.
