I'm looking to add to another setup and was looking at the Sigelie v2. But noticed all the new stuff coming out is going up in the watts.. Up to 150! Why so much? Should I be looking for something with more watts? I'm looking to upgrade from an aspire alantis with the sub ohm battery. But feel like I'm limited with my choice. Or could I use any tank, Atty with this battery?

Yeah, now that I'm awake I can see where my question was a bit confusing. Lol..
I have no clue as to how many watts the sub ohm battery puts out. Would I be wasting my cash if I picked up a Nautilus to try out on this or would the battery freak out and wield the tank to my lips? Or with this aspire battery am I stuck with just the alantis tank?
I'm looking to buy a different mod but want something that doesn't limit me.. I would like to use Nautilus, alantis any atty if I wanted. ???
Sorry for the noob questions.

A 50W mod that goes down to .2ohms (which most I would consider buying seem to handle just fine) will pretty much handle any pre-built coil out there and leave you very well set up handle any RTA, RDA on the market and get a good vape out of it.

Your only real limitation will be wire gauge, with 50W you're looking at tight limitations on dual coil builds with thicker gauge wires like #24, a fair bit of play with #26 and you can pretty much build whatever you want with #28 to #32 single or dual.

My day to day vapes while out and about range from 9W to 13W on my Kayfuns to between 20W and 30W on my Krakens, Orchids and Atlantis toppers, even most of my dripper builds max out at under 30W. I build for flavor first almost every time.

Sure I've got some builds that go way past 40W, but it has nothing to do with getting a better vape, those builds are high VG cloud builds purely for fun around the house and driving the wife crazy allowing me to enjoy two hobbies at once.

Going back to your question regarding if you can use other toppers such as the Nautilus with your Aspire SubΩ battery. The answer appears to be, "Yes"
Aspire CF SUB

Your battery has a maximum amperage of 40A, though I've no idea if that's pulse or continuous (believe it's the former, but don't quote me ;))

A mech mod is a different beast to a regulated box mod. A mech mod is usually a tube (can be box shaped), a switch and a battery with no "safeguards", except for the users knowledge/ expertise.

Try 260 Watts. 150 is so last hour.

And FWIW, it fires my Subtank at 25 watts absolutely beautifully!

APV companies want to get people to "impulse buy" the latest and greatest. I call them suckers. 95% of vapers, for 95% of the time are under 20-25 watts. "sub-ohming" is just another term towards that business end.

Sub-ohming is just running a coil below 1.0 ohms. The clear majority are running coils above that. This forum leans to being a hobbyist forum where much of the discussion is about intense vaping.

Like I said, most are below 20 watts and above 1.0 ohms.

And that is what I intended with my last line, I have 100W, 150W and 260W mods and they all three do a fantastic job in the 20 to 30 watt range. I also have a car, well my wife has a car with a top speed of 190mph and it gets down the highway just fine at 70. Unfortunately I have a Ford Powerstroke that has a top speed of whatever the latest wrecker to pick it up can do!

Yes, the big, high powered mods are for the most part overkill. So are many other things that people buy. Personally I own them because I want them not because I need them. I occasionally screw an RDA on one of them and run it up to 60 watts but that's not my normal vape.

I ended up purchasing a duel battery 100w box mod. Its way to cumbersome for me to use on the day to day for work and what not plus with the size of the clouds its just big, heavy and over the top so for the day time for the most part I use my little Evic but in the evenings I love coming home to the nice warm vape and thick clouds of higher wattage. In any case I hardly ever hit 30 watts on it now but the reason for my purchase to get one that goes to 100 is that I wanted a hobby platform as in something I could put anything on and hell do some welding too if I'm not too busy... lol.
It worked out great for me though and I am very very happy.

The Aspire Atlantis with the sub-ohm battery puts out on average about 25 watts. If you like that vape, I would not buy a mod with less than 50 watts available. Very few people vape all day at over 50 watts so that gives you some room to experiment with. Here's a recent ECF poll on; How many watts do you vape at?

Hah, I spent most of a day at 55W dripping my Hobo v2 clone. I started the day with 100% and when I had to change batteries WAAAAY ahead of schedule, I finished what was in the atty and put a much more power friendly atty on. But man, what a glorious and foggy day that was. Must be where that bottle of Paramour went. RIP my delicious friend; your sacrifice was appreciated.
