Most leak proof Tank for severe elevation changes? (Cable Cars, Paragliding, . . .)

Hey guys!
I regularly find myself having to rely on normal cigarettes in the mountains/while paragliding and that's incredibly annoying/unhealthy/disgusting.

I'm looking for a tank that satisfies the following criteria, sorted by importance:

1. Does not leak
2. REALLY can't leak, even when taking a cable car going up 1000m/3000ft in a few Minutes
3. Don't leak into my jacket pocket, bro!
4. Has decent clouds and flavor.
5. Is ideally a hassle-less tank with premade coils, though I'm not averse to building if the most leak proof tank would require it.

Thanks a lot in advance! I'm not deep enough into the scene anymore to even know where to begin!

Sounds like you need something with a juice flow control. I can't make any recommendations since I haven't used a tank for a long time, so I'm not sure which ones have what features currently. But a juice flow control would allow you to close off the juice from the coil and airflow, making it practically impossible to leak no matter if you are changing elevation. I usually see this feature on RTAs and not in drop in coil tanks though. But there may be a drop in coil tank with it, again I don't keep up on tanks.

I have a Vaporz Cloud VCST 30mm with a juice flow control and I have never had it leak. It's now long discontinued, but I'm sure there are newer tanks with this feature.

The problem you’ve got is tanks rely on air pressure and capillary action to mete out juice to the coil. You’re changing air pressure wildly. I don’t think a mere juice flow will cover it. You could theoretically keep equalizing the air pressure inside the tank for your current elevation. Forget once and it will leak though.

maybe something that DOESNT use air pressure? An RDA doesn’t. Got to keep adding juice though. A traditional squonker might have the same problems though with its flexible bottle.

Advken Owl tank is top air and uses Baby Beast style coils.

Geekvape makes a top air tank in their Zeus line.

The Voopoo Rimfire is an RTA that offers both top air and JFC.
Don’t top air tanks just provide an increased path for the air from the top to the bottom though? I could be wrong about that. If so It would create a reservoir for juice to back flow into but it would eventually fill up

As bottom coil tanks rely on vacuum, pressure changes will cause leakage. There are a number of tanks which use top coils, genesis style, that don't depend on vacuum so are not affected by pressure. Some of the newer tanks are also designed to work on bottom feeding devices. Another option that's not pressure dependent would be a bottom feeding RDA on a squonker. Excess liquid gets sucked back into the bottle.

Some of the tanks can flood, yes. But, as they're flooding into a closed space, there is no leaking until/unless the tank is inverted or laid on its side. Contrast that with a bottom air tank which, when flooding occurs, it's automatically a leak out of the airflow. The Rimfire, if the JFC is closed when not in use, will prevent flooding and leaking.

There's also the Aspire Cleito EXO, the Smok X-Baby Beast, and another that uses an ARC style disc coil whose name I cannot recall. However, they (like all the other tanks) do not offer JFC.

Oh, and the Sapor RTA offers top air and JFC, but it's a little janky IMO.

So it could work, depending on how much air pressure induced leakage there is and as pressure changes back it could simply be sucked back in again. The question then becomes how much leakage is created by how much pressure change.

The low-to-high pressure change isn't likely to cause you a problem, IMO. The tank would be a lower internal pressure which would be similar to what happens after you draw on it. Somehow outside air gets into the lower-pressure chamber to equalizes it all. Either the juice-side of the wick, or the internal air-flow side (which is irrelevant since it's open to air).

So I would assume that as you ascend, you'd get the higher pressure in the tank that was pressurized at lower altitude pushing juice through the wicks into the air chamber causing leaking out the vent holes. Right? That or just activity.

Anyway, the solution is easy...empty the tank. Fill it from a bottle when you stop to vape. Empty it again. MAYBE you can get away with filling it once at the highest elevation and descending, but I'm just theorizing here. Otherwise leaking is leaking. Often bad seals or crappy wicking that's letting air in and allowing juice to run out the vent holes.

And use a plastic bottle for the juice that you squeeze a bit before you ascend, so it can expand and not pop the top?

P.S. And I'm surprised that drawing on it as you ascend doesn't fix that issue.

This seems reasonable to me. Same problem as with standard international commercial air travel but instead on a single pressure change it’s more often more variable and more gradual. Using a tank effectively AS an RDA as you describe would work as well as an RDA I suspect. Another thought might be absolutely completely filling the tank. If there is NO air in the tank there is nothing to expand. Assuming of course that ejuice behaves the same as water as far as pressure is concerned.

For testing I bought a Squape N duro, since a shop a couple of blocks away had in stock... I'll report back once I know something! After that I'll try some of the other suggestions as well! I got a bottom feeding Squonker for example, never considered taking that outside, for some reason, but it may work!

The possible problem I see with a squonker is the feed tube dipped in the liquid acts as a valve. Air in the top of the bottle will push liquid out the tube

That is true, but as long as it's upright it should only push it onto the deck at best... If it even makes it up all the way off the tube... Cotton will absorb it on deck... I'd have to calculate it, but even 1000Meters elevation gain shouldn't push toooooo crazy amounts onto the deck... Keep bottle topped off, less air to compress/expand, less leakage...

Or you could just store the squonker upside down so the tip of the hose is in the air bubble. It would equalize naturally. Maybe. Unless that causes a different problem. Have fun experimenting! :D bring paper towels.
