The OP didn't seem to be very offensive to me starting out. It looks like some people did get offended though and started being extremely rude and he replied in kind.
Now in the last few pages it just looks like several senior board members (1000+ posts) are just being obnoxious bullies.
I've always regarded these boards as being very friendly and helpful, but this thread is kind of upsetting and reflects poorly on this community.

This thread is more of a opinion and not a Help thread for new comers. Even though the OP did not state it was his opinion but fact that we are all just sheep and extreme addicts. The new comers don't need to be subjected to this. IMO

Those guys are in the business. They pounce on folks who threaten their interests. The funniest part, however, is trying to dress up box mods as health devices, or as the alternative to quiting smoking. Simply put, box mods are addiction-enabler devices, and those folks are their pushers. And the box mod is ugly to top it off.
