Hi All!

Just thinking about DIY some liquids. I realize that tastes are purely subjective but what are the one or two flavorings/combinations out of the many that has been the most consistently successful for everyone when DIY. Just want to settle on a few main flavors to keep things simple.

edit: by most successful, I mean gives the most authentic flavors and ones that tend to be your Go-To flavors time after time. Looking for any flavors - fruit, specialty etc.

Thanks!

FlavourArts Irish Cream is awesome all by itself! It tastes like a mixture of hot cocoa and Baileys:) And their 'Cookie" is a nice base for many flavors. It tastes good with most anything added to it with a couple drops of of sweetener. My latest favorite recipes are Cookie + PA's Bavarian Cream+ Any flavor LOL! It always tastes like a wonderful cookie/pastry no matter what the 3rd ingredient is:)

Some other good solo flavors are Perfumer's Apprentice's Plum, Toasted Marshmallow, Cola, Blueberry and Black Cherry. At Vapor Renu, their Banana Nut Bread, Big Red Gum, Toffee Dream, Raspberry, Creme De Menthe, Rootbeeer Float and Creamy Coconut are wonderful.

Flavor West - Fruit Stripe Gum. Dead on flavor. And it lasts longer than the gum itself.

TPA - Ripe Banana. Very potent flavoring. Closest that I have found to a real banana.

FA - Cantaloupe. Very close to the real thing.

I agree with those that mentioned Capella's Vanilla Custard. It is the only vanilla flavor that I like as a stand alone.

FA has an excellent butterscotch mixed alone with a little sweetner. I'm also a fan of Capellas vanilla custard. I agree with dripdaddy on the fruit stripe gum flavor. This is one of my son's favs. Another one that is good is Red Bull from PA. I also like watermelon from PA. Capella's has a bunch of flavors that are good mixed alone such as Coconut, Cinnamon Danish Swirl, Banana Split and Vanilla Cupcake.

I like Totally Wickeds M/borough for my tobacco fix. I use a lot of others but this one is easy and good.

I have been using PA Apple, Caramel, and Peanut Butter mixed for over a year now and is still on my daily rotation.

I just received some Capella's Sweet Strawberry and am very impressed. As far as the Vanilla Custard.... Yuk. :2c:

Wow! Thank you all for your input. I hadn't even given Capellas much thought. Don't know much about them either as I'm a noob to DIY. I do love vanilla though. and many of you really like the Vanilla Custard so thats one I'll try for sure. Will also give some of the FA and PA flavorings a try. Because taste is so subjective, it does seem that just keeping a few basic flavors on hand is pretty unrealistic when just getting started.

Thanks again everyone!

I've got several:

PA or Loranns Bavarian Cream (different, but both very good).
PA Apple
PA Pear
Capellas Cappuccino is my new favorite.
Capellas French Toast is also great.
Loranns Caramel
PA Blueberry
Loranns Cheesecake (great with the PA blueberry)
Capellas Peaches and Cream

These are what I like today. But I've got another PA order on the way, so this may change soon!! :)
