Hi all.
I just started vaping a couple of weeks ago. Some great things about it. Some things just annoy me!
My husband has tried a few hits of my choco mint and says he would like to quit smoking and will I get him a ecig too so he can quit.

So what is the best ecig I can get him that will work most consistently for him?
if it gurgles he will just get frustrated.
He is a tradesman so it would have to ride in his shirt pocket presumably. Might just get put in the console of his truck until he is ready to pick it up again. Twirling and tipping or dripping or changing coils in the middle of a shift just isn't gonna work for him. And recoiling and removing flavor wicks ain't gonna work for me either!

I have been been reading forums and everyone has a different experience on what's available.
Im thinking Cartomizers on a 510 maybe?

it would never be a hobby for him.
Just a friend who is as faithful as his cigarettes have been. Come to think of it--that sounds good to me too.

I know now the technology has come a long way already.
So what's out there?

People will tell me I am wrong, but I really like the Kanger Protank Mini V2's. It all works great. I don't remove wicks.

I carry extra tanks and juice. I am completely trouble free. I decided on one tank and I got 10. A little gurgling, it tends to solve itself. If not, put a pipe cleaner down the drip tip gently. Maybe you are sucking too hard?

My stuff works good. I like the Kanger Mini's. I don't know any different.

I run 3 tanks and I have used two coils since Christmas.

I can't possibly complain.

What are you using?

I'd say a cigalike would be the best way to get him started; once he stops smoking smoke cigs.
A 510 carto cigalike.
The trick is in the taste though; he needs to find a taste that does the trick for him.

I don't think you're going to get an e-cig that is completely no fuss. I find that Top Coil Atomizer tanks are pretty consistent. I've never really had a wicking issue as long as I keep it filled. I have a Kanger EVOD tank that does like to flood and gurgle which is a problem I've found with bottom coil atomizers. And with those you do have to do a bit of cleaning and dry burning and buying replacement atomizers.

With top coil atomizer tanks, you can toss them when they're not any good anymore and they're fairly cheap. I'd recommend them with just a simple ego style battery.

kanger EVOD starter kit would be good, comes with two check them out

I have the Kanger EVOD. Works okay if I keep it over half full, keep it upright as much as possible and don't take it outside where there is a big temperature difference. Oh yes, and use thicker juice. I have been adding an equal amount of USP Vegetable Glycerin.
My husband goes in and out all day long. And like I said, it's just as likely to lay in the console in his truck till he is ready to pick it up again.
I can see him getting frustrated with flooding issues in the first hour. That would be a deal breaker for him.

Cigarettes never gave me this much trouble!

I'm going to get flamed, but there's nothing like the old-fashioned cartomizer for simplicity and minimal problems. Yes, they get dry--you just change them over. Yes, they can flood if you overfill, but blow them out onto a tissue and they're fine.

Capacity is small so you do have to carry several, although larger capacity cartos are available. And they have limited lifespan so you do need to keep re-ordering. But let's face it, drop them, kick them, they just keep working.

They're the no-brainer for basic users and if he wants to move on in the future, so be it.

As far as the battery base, I'm a fan of the simple eGo or an eGo Twist if you want the option of variable voltage (which you don't ever have to use if you don't want to). They're cheap, reliable, available at any online retailer, and come in colors. What more could you want? :)

Sidenote: congratulations on helping him quit!

I think you're on the right track when it comes to being a fuss free for a first timer. Others suggest a tank system, but I have never had a tank that works right out of the package flawlessly. Most of us don't mind a little fiddling, but I know someone like you're describing, and I think for some people, cartomizers are the way to go.

First, I still recommend an EGO style battery for him. that's the biggest downside to a cigalike. You can, however, use standard cartomizers for him. It won't be the cheapest route, but it is the most worry free to go cartomizer. Probably some blanks that he can fill himself.

the standard Boge cartomizer might be one option. Those he can refill as needed. and can carry a few around. a cone would be necessary just for looks.

If he smokes a lot, perhaps you could get him a mega cartomizer. These hold more liquid and do not need a coil. Also, they have a soft tip and are a bit easier to refill.

Links provided are just first finders. You could look around for better pricing, but the link will at least give you an idea of what you're looking for.

I think an ego Winder/Spinner/Twist is the easiest battery. For the top/tank, I would suggest a Kanger EVOD or Innokin iClear 16 or 16s. Those are what I started with. You don't have to dry burn the Kanger coils. You can just pitch them like any other but why not get your money's worth out of them. Leave them soaking in a coffee mug until you have time to do the maintenance while rotating through your spares. A good soak in vodka usually gets them working at least another day without even doing a dry burn if the coil is still functioning.

For no fuss/little muss, my first choice is Kanger EVOD. If you want more capacity, I would suggest the MT3s. Very similar to an EVOD but holds more liquid. Carto-tank systems hold even more and once you get them primed there is no maintenance until the carto goes bad. The lifespan varies depending on the brand of carto and type of liquid being used. There price ranges are all over the board for carto tank setups and there is more of a learning curve in the beginning.

The best thing to do is to drag him to a vape shop and let him pick out his own new toy and hopefully it is one that has a taste bar.
