Mostly a noob. Is this setup going to work?

This is my first post, but I've been visiting these forums since the beginning of January when I kicked cigs and started vaping.

I started on a VV 3, and quickly moved to an MVP 2 when I realized I needed a whole lot more battery life.

I also made the move from iclear 16's and 30's to Protanks- which were a marked improvement. But the protank coils are incredibly inconsistent- my last two packs of single coil heads were labeled 1.8 ohm. Not a single one measured correct, on my MVP or DMM.

Then I got a Kayfun Lite from EHPro. Protanks haven't been used in about a month! I'm very good at micro coils. I have some electronics background, so I think that helped, along with all the great wicking and build threads here.

Being the kinda guy I am, I've been obsessively reading threads about mech mods, battery safety, and other ways I can upgrade to gain more flexibility and a chance to try some different builds. I'm not planning on heading into sub ohm territory- yet.

I recently ordered a bunch of stuff. Here goes:

-hcigar Nemesis clone
-2 Sony 18650 VTC4 batteries
-Efest LUC charger dual bay version
-Igo L
-Kick 2
-shortstop fuse (not planning on running in conjunction with Kick 2, unless that's a good idea/ possible. Safer the better for me.)

I like to build the Kayfun around 1.6 to 1.9 ohms on the MVP 2 with the wattage between 9 and 11. I figured the mech would give me the advantage of being able to build slightly lower ohms, and try some different style attys to improve my overall vaping experience.

Safety is my primary concern, but also worried if all this stuff is going to fit together and work well. From my research, it seems like I got the right parts- but I'll know for sure once I try to get it all set up in the Nemesis without rattling around!

If I run the sony batteries in the nemesis with te kick 2, I'll need to make the Nemesis in the longest possible configuration, right? Or will I still have to remove the smallest (2 cent fuse sized) ring?

Thanks everyone for your help. I love this site!

You can get just about anything to fit flush in a Nemesis and you can adjust it fully to have no rattle as well. If you're using a Kick, don't use the fuse. In order to use the Kick and the 18650 batteries, you'll need the 18650 extension, the kick ring and the 18490 extension, in other words, all the pieces that come with it, in light saber mode!

And, on my mechs, I like my Russian 91% at 1.4 to 1.6ohm with no regulation. Well in the safety zone of any IMR battery and produces great vapor and flavor. Kayfuns are made for flavor and throat hit, so take it easy and get to know it before you go too low. If you're gonna run the Kick 2 with it, then build it around 1.8-2 and you'll have plenty of range there to tailor it to your sweet spot.

Thanks for the advice! I plan on spending for a Russian 91 after I'm finished doodling around and learning on the clones. I feel like one of the juice channels in my EHpro is slightly small in comparison to the other. At least once or twice per tank of juice, I have to plug the air hole and give it a short pull- then I see some serious bubbles.

Also, I feel bad for my Protanks. I've rebuilt a couple of them using micro coils and cotton, but what a pain trying to cram all of that in there for a vape that still doesn't compare to the KFL.

My last 1.8 ohm protank coil from Kanger measured 2.6 ohms! Yikes! Immediately sent that one to my parts drawer.

If you have to hold the air hole in the KFL to force juice into the chamber, it's more that likely a wick issue. 1- You really don't need that much, just enough to fit through the coils snug, but not tight at all, should be able to slide it without resistance, and cut to just touch the base of the chamber. 2- Juice up the wick and place it so it touches the bottom of the build deck, but not covering the channels at all. You have to leave the channels clear for juice to come in and for air to go out to equalize the pressure. 3- make sure you prime your wicks well before assembly, and you'll be in vaping nirvana.

Once set up right, you won't get a single dry hit untill you run out of juice in the tank, or you go way too high on your watts, which you'll probably won't do since the vape will get really hot.
