Mountain View (CA) may ban smoking
Mountain View may ban smoking within 25 feet of restaurants, bars, other buildings « Business & Money « Peninsula Press

But cannot find proposed ordinance at City website City of Mountain View - City Council
It wasn't discussed at recent council meetings, and isn't on agenda for 1/3/12 meeting.

Note that other municipalities in Santa Clara County with recently enacted and proposed smoking bans are cited in news article.

Mountain View’s latest proposal gained momentum after the county (Santa Clara) received a $6.9 million federal grant to reduce second-hand smoke exposure of residents. That money has been distributed to cities.

Appears to be another CDC grant similar to the ones given to other state/local governments that proposed ordinances/regulations to ban/restrict use/sales of e-cigarettes/dissolvables and/or ban smokeless tobacco use.

If Mountain View uses this money to limit the use of e-cigarettes, they will be working to prevent the reduction of SHS exposure. Anyone exhaling vapor is not exhaling smoke.

Reminds me of an Arcade game where, when you "got killed", a robotic voice laughed, "Heh, Heh, Heh. Space Cadet!"

LOL..this comming from the same state that just recently legalized the "medicinal" use of a green leafy substance. CA... land of fruits and nuts (this statement not meant to offend the 10 normal people that live in CA like I did at one time).

Bottom line is they havent figured out how to tax the he11 out of it.... as soon as they figure this out it will be OK (even if there still isnt massive scientific studies done on vaping yet...as long as they can tax it).
