mouth piece getting juice in it. Is that normal?

It sounds to me like you need greater airflow, or you need to "suck" on it a lot more lightly and easily; if I have the airflow too tight on my kayfuns, I always end up with juice in my mouth.

And no, soda not only won't work to help hydrate you, it will make dehydation WORSE. Anything without caffeine or alcohol or a lot of sugar and sodium is pretty much ok, but the best choices are #1) coconut water (the kind with no sugar added), and/or #2) plain water. And forget the sports drinks; they have whopping amounts of sodium, very low on the other very important electrolytes, and many have loads of sugar too.
