I have to agree with Papa close off some of the airflow on the Atlantis and take shorter pulls until you start getting used to the density and the amount of vapor that it produces. I don't know what you are using for a mod but back the wattage back a little bit so that the coil ramps up slower and that may help some too. It will allow you to draw on it a little bit longer without quite as much vapor production in such a short amount of time. It will take some experimenting and easing into. I have not met too many people that can pick up a sub-ohm RDA and rip it like a pro without choking themselves out and the Atlantis and Kanger Sub-tank are bridging the gap between a tank and RDA making it possible for people who would like the RDA experience without the hassle of building your own coils, it is a plug and play system that they are familiar with. It is bound to take quite a few tank users by surprise because it does perform quite differently than a protank or nautilus. Good luck and hang in there it will come, it is like anything else you have to play around with your settings until you find the sweet spot.

Here is a, might I say quite elaborate technique for people who struggle with lung hits.

Now! brace yourselves, it is going to be complicated.... Here we go:

Don't do it...

Just... Don't.

You don't have to do it....

No one forces you to do it....

Vape like you like to vape...

Just don't smoke...

and be happy.

Ive been vaping for two month, 0mg nic since day one, and i cant take 3mg nic hit even with chepo e-cig kit. Vaping of RDA with 3mg nic, is like trying to inhale a bag of sand mixed with red pepper.

Im sure with time and practice i can take Nicotine lung hits, but i dont want to be addicted to nicotine. I enjoy a full day with out a need to vape.

But when i take a lung hit dear god i can take like a 2 sec drag and start coughing for the next minute.

So the question basically is...clearomizers/RDA with huge airflow are they really meant for direct lung hits? And when people, like me, struggle taking a lung hit does it just take commitment (like vaping the first time, major coughs and it just becomes normal) before it goes normal?

Because atm my Aspire Atlantis looks absolutely useless to me while i looked so forward to using it.

You mean like teaching yourself to "smoke"???

When I first started rebuilding with RDA's I found out that you really have to take lung hits because of the huge air flow on them. So I had my 24mg juice I was using in my clearomizers and built my Nimbus RDA and ripped it. I felt like I was about to die because I got so much nicotine. I felt like my throat was being incinerated. So make sure you drop your nic level way down when you're using the Atlantis. It's kinda weird at first inhaling the vapor straight into your lungs. I got used to it pretty quickly and now all I do is take lung hits. If I can't lung hit it, I'm not using it. Just keep trying and you'll like it after a while.

I didn't direct lung inhale when I smoked, don't enjoy it, and changing my preference to accommodate vaping gear would have defeated the purpose. I don't have an Atlantis to play with, but you might want to try this method with yours...

Try 'double' mouth to lung hits. First draw, 1-2 seconds with a shallow, 'sloppy' inhale, allowing some vapor to exit the mouth, immediately followed by a second, longer draw, while slowly exhaling through nose from first draw, then full inhale, then exhale. On that second draw, take as much or as little into your lungs as you want. For me, it's much more satisfying to have the vapor where I can 'meter' it into my lungs, than to just suck it all in to the depths for better or worse.

The idea is like, the first draw is the 'primer', second is the 'hitter'. I get rich, 'enveloping' flavor and excellent vapor with this method.

You can release the fire button between draws, but keeping it firing will make the second draw warmer and 'fuller'. Just don't wait too long (more than a second) if you keep it firing.

Nah its more like im getting into boxmods atm and i kinda dislike the general "tank" experience. But im starting to notice that the more airflow the better the vape is for me. But i just can't handle that much airflow through a mouth hit personally so i try to do it with a lung hit but thats just to much of a punch atm.

Its like when i first started switching from smoking to ecigs. The first day i coughed like crazy (tbh everyone I've seen has this) but the second day it was completely normal and never coughed again. I was just wondering if it was the same thing with lung hits. Just stick to it and you will adapt.

This is just how I vape, it works for me I love it.

Happy vaping. :)

Sounds a lot like the hits we used to use with Automatic 510 stick batteries, back in the 'bad old days'....:)

I've always been a mouth to lung hitter, for over 40 years with cigarettes, and now with vaping. Adjusting the air flow or modifying my toppers to restrict the air flow has helped. I have drilled some RDA and Genny tanks for additional air flow, I keep it low enough that mouth to lung is still comfortable and produces bigger clouds than my smokes ever did (even my cigars).

When I tried out the Atlantis and the new Kanger one at my local B&M they just took off the drip tip i was using on my own ecig and put that on it...And that happened to be one of those really LONG &NARROW giraffe-neck-designer- type tips (on a mini nautilus) .
well, that change alone SIGNIFICANTLY reduced the intake so if you wanted to ease into it SLOW I suppose you could consider switching for a smaller-hole drip tip...at least at first ;) !

After being a mouth to lung vaper for about 4 years, a buddy instructed me on direct lung hits. It took a few days to develop my technique. Now, I'd never go back--so much better--you can really feel the nic, if that's what you're after, better flavor on the exhale, and to me less harshness, now that I know what I'm doing. I'm using a Nautilus, but have tried and loved the Atlantis and will get one as soon as finances allow.

It's amazing what we can figure out when we try :)

Haha i know, but when it comes down to a new thing which still has its "unknown areas" like vaping and stuff feels really harsh (first lung hits) most smart people wouldn't keep doing it without asking more experienced folks if its normal :p

Lets say it wasn't normal, and i didn't ask and just kept doing it the next few days believing all would be right...haha.
