Hi Everyone,

I'm new to the forum and new to vaping. I just started vaping about 2 weeks ago and I wish I would have started sooner. I haven't had a cig since I started.

I have a question, yesterday I noticed some ulcers on my tongue. Towards the back on the sides and a little underneath. Has anyone experienced this?

My daughter woke up this morning with hand foot and mouth, I'm trying to figure out if I have hand foot and mouth too or a side effect from vaping. I never had it as a kid and it is very contagious. I am not looking for medical advice, but just for others experience with the side effects. Thanks!

In this order:

1) See a doctor.
2) can be a side effect of quitting smoking.

but no one has mentioned 3) which is "it could be the flavor you're vaping."

I will occasionally get small mouth ulcers if I vape too much citrus or cinnamon juices in the course of a day or two. They heal up when I lay off the citrus and/or cinnamon, also for a day or two.

Mouth ulcers can also happen if you have a tank that likes to spit hot juice at you (provided you have a tank that can be disassembled/reassembled, the spitting problem can usually be remedied by adjusting the little rubber gasket that sits on top of the coil - some tanks/gaskets are just more temperamental than others).

However, as others have said, definitely rule out 1) before you explore any other cause.

I really think it was the juice, I was vaping one called toxic fruits that was very citrusy and I swapped to my caramel macchiato and this morning my mouth is ten times better. The toxic fruits also had a higher nicotine content and I really wasn't enjoying it as much. But it makes perfect sense citrus is acidic and eating too much acidic food can also cause mouth ulcers.

I'm not usually one to rush to the doctor, especially when my urgent care copay is high and it's a holiday weekend. I like to give things a few days to see if the body heals itself. If anything worsens again I will definitely be calling my doc. I'm just relieved it isn't progressing like hand foot and mouth does.

Thanks for your input!
