I am seriously considering getting a 510. I've been watching videos, reading threads and faqs.

One thing I have not seen mentioned is the mouth pieces. I am an odd smoker in that the shape of the cigarette affects my enjoyment greatly. When Camel Wides came out, I could not stand the feel of the filter.

Before I drop a hunk of cash I don't have readily available, can anyone illustrate for me what the mouth pieces are like? I assume they are plastic. Is there any sort of cigarette filter thingy that is similar that I could try, like those little plastic thingies? Are they like those?

Also, I've never used a hookah or vaporized anything and I'm wondering how different it is from actually smoking, or is all that information about throat kick really talking about feeling more cigarettey?

Seriously though, the mouth piece is my major hurdle. What say you?

Just go to google image search and type "510 cartridge." You'll find plenty of pictures.

I'd post a link, but I don't have enough posts yet. To me it looks like it's pretty much the same as a regular cigarette or the BLU/Volcano in shape, but in size, it's closer to that of a cigarillo. So it would be like smoking a bigass filtered cigarette, probably even larger than a Camel wide.

There are 3 possibilities.
1. Regular round cart tips. Kind of like a cigarette but hard plastic. Cartomizers are like these as well.
2. Whistle tips. Like you would find on a straight pipe but not as wide side-to-side and thicker front-to-back.
3. Drip tips. I have only tried the T-Tip stainless shorty and it is, well, metal in your mouth. There are other plastic-type drip tips that I will have to leave to others to comment on.

It did not take me very long to get used to using these.
Nothing duplicates smokes exactly but then what a wonderful trade off to be free of those icky, deadly smokes with their 4000 chemicals.

I still use my original 510's even though I have added an eGo (fabulous vapor, flavor, throat hit and different than smokes and 510's because of the extra size and weight but same cart options).

Welcome to ECF and the Wonderful World of vaping.
BE BRAVE and take this opportunity to get to enjoy the act of smoking without the smelly, icky, and deadly parts.

They have alot of different styles for the 510. Round ones and flat tips are pretty much it. But the flat tips come in different widths. just compared a old .... i had laying around with one on my 510 round carts and the cart is a hair or two bigger then a regular cigg ..... It for sure is going to be smaller then a Wide. All carts i have every seen are made from plastic. Drip tips are mostly made from metal. But that get into a different ball game. Alot of people switch to dripping after vaping for awhile. You can search some thread to find out more about it . Hope this helps

Do you think I should buy some of those plastic cigarette filter tip thingies? They seem to be whistle-tip-ish?

I'm also guessing the sheer weight of these things makes having a cig dangling is a bit harder. Then again, I don't really do that.

Thanks for your input, I'm still reading like a fiend and dangit, can't join my local forum yet. :)

It is all a matter of your personal preference. If you purchase the round or whistle tip cartridges then you will be able to wet the filler and use them as is. If you purchase "plastic" drip tips available at many e-cig sellers then you only have the option to "drip" which is to put 2-3 drops into the atty and vape that way or purchase 510 cartomizers, soft tip preferably, remove the tip, fill the carto and plug the 510/901 drip tip into the atomizer and vape that way.

So it all depends on what you want to do.

And, letting an e-cig 'dangle' from your lips is pretty much out of the question due to the weight of the battery, atomizer/cartridge, or cartomizer.

Anyway, if you're at a desk or table you'll find it's best just to take a puff or two and then put it back down.

You need to give the juice time to wick onto the atomizer's heating element anyway, especially if you're using an atomizer/cartridge combo. However, this usually only takes a few seconds.
