I'm thinking of moving the Cart mods board from Modding, to Technical / Tips & Tricks.

It would be a lot more visible there. The vast majority of people don't look in the Modders forum so they don't know that Cart mods exist, so there is a continual stream of questions about cart mods, but all that needs to happen is that the Cart mod board needs to be made visible.

I really don't think Cart Mods are part of the Modders thing, they are something everyone does & that everyone needs to know about. Right now, hardly anyone knows the Cart Mods board is there.

Comments?

Wish those drippers / tailpipers would go somewhere else... :D

OK, time to expand on what I posted first: I guess what I'm basically saying is that cart mods isn't modding. They are something everybody does or might need to do, as against modding, which is something very few are interested in doing or even capable of doing. Maybe 'cart mods' should be called 'cart improvements' and then it becomes clearer. I don't think cutting your cart filler a different way qualifies as modding, it doesn't compare to designing, buying a ton of parts, drilling, soldering, and tweaking.

And the thing is, nobody sees that board where it is. Very few will go to the Modders section. But cart improvements are something everybody needs to know about and that all can do. There are a stream of questions on it because no one knows about the board, where it is. Should be in Tech Tips.

OR:

Maybe we could split the board into 'consumer' cartridge improvements, and true 'cart mods' as in rebuilding them structurally, rebuilding cartos or whatever. Split it into what everyone wants/needs to do, and what modders-only are interested in.

That would depend on if there are enough posts of each type - there are plenty of the consumer variety, are there enough/any of the pure modder type?
