It's that time, again. Movie Quiz!

Caff said he was swamped this weekend, so here's my first attempt at keeping the quiz going. Most of the text was shamelessly copied from last week's quiz (as was the picture template). The theme is old horror films.

There are eight screenshots below. Most of them should be fairly recognizable if you've seen the films. So, which of these movies can you identify?

Please answer with movie numbers only, not titles..

    Good luck!

The answers will be posted Sunday, as usual.

    Too easy?

A few hints in the form of dumb captions:

    1. "Son, I'm so old, I still owe Moses a dollar."
    2. "No, I don't know him, but his face sure rings a bell."
    3. "You're going to feel a little ......"
    4. "Actually, he's the level-headed one in the family. Want me to get him up?"
    5. "No, no. What else floats in water?" "Bread." "Apples." "Very small rocks." ... "Burn her!"
    6. "Nice to meet you, Miriam. I'm Clay."
    7. "Ok, finger warm-up exercises. Thumb, forefinger... keep those fingers curled ...middle finger... Good. Ok, let's try it over here on the organ. Do you like Bach?"
    8. "What the hell is in this drink? When you said it would put a little hair on my chest, boy was that an understatement!"

More hints if you need 'em. It's been really quiet this weekend. Don't scroll down if you're coming in late to the thread.

#2, #3, #4 and #8 were all literary classics. #7 was also based on a book that only became somewhat popular after the various films and plays.

    1. Bubba Ho-Tep's brother, Boris Karloff, was an ancient priest prepped and buried alive and accidentally revived by a magic spell to cause mayhem in this Universal horror.
    2. Charles Laughton in his most famous role, is a lowly, deformed character living in a cathedral and works ringing the bells for mass. He lusts after a pretty gypsy who proves to be his undoing.
    3. The novel was inspired by a blood-thirsty Romanian prince who was alternately called Vlad The Impaler and a name that means son of the dragon (which gave the novel its name).
    4. The novel's alternate title was The Modern Prometheus and the creature was called Adam. Usually, however, people remember the mad scientist's name when referring to the monster. In the sequel, Elsa Lanchester played both the 18-year-old author of the book and the wife of the monster.
    5. A Swedish documentary about the history of witches and the church up to the early 1900's. A series of dramatic sequences show witches cavorting and kissing demon .... and monks trying and torturing suspected witches. It's also the original 1 girl 1 cup where a maiden attempts to seduce a monk with a love potion made from cat feces.
    6. In 16th-century Prague, a Jewish rabbi creates a giant creature from clay and brings the creature to life to protect the Jews of Prague from persecution.
    7. A hideous organ player secretly living under the Paris Opera House causes murder and mayhem in an attempt to force management to make the woman he loves a star. Perfect fodder for the more recent musical, right?
    8. John Barrymore is a mild-mannered doctor, but his drinking turns him completely evil to commit murder and mayhem in the seediest sections of London.
