Hey everyone!

I am new to the site and pretty new to vaping. I have been using my dad's terrible old skycig (now blu) for about 2 months and have stopped smoking so that's great! I know the blu is pretty bad so I have been looking into various options and have ordered an eRoll which should be here tomorrow!! I though this looked like a great option for me since I love the cig-a-like style but wanted to be able to fill it with a juice of my choice, and wanted a more powerful and generally better vaping experience, I did a lot of research and video watching before ordering to make sure it was right as I can only really afford to buy one being a poor student! A PCC is also a must for me since I'm always out and want to keep it somewhere safe that also charges- this is what I'm used to with my skycig. Also, being a social smoker and being constantly around other students who smoke etc, I like to have something that doesn't make me feel left out or miss smoking too much and I would feel weird with a huge PV, plus I'm small and weak so would probably fall over or something

I have a couple of questions and I hope someone may be able to help me :)

From what I've read, the battery and tank capacity on the eroll aren't great but I don't really have anything to compare it to. I was wondering if anyone knows the capacity of the screw on blu cartomizers and the battery capacity as I currently have no way of knowing how much I am vaping. I seem to get through about 1-2 carts a day on my skycig before the taste goes horrible and I probably change the battery over 4/5 times. Do you think it'll be a similar experience on the eRoll? I have purchased the case with the extra space to hold a second eRoll so I can just swap them over when it runs out and hopefully it'll have charged by the time the other runs out. I wouldn't say I'm a chain vaper as such but I do vape all day, but set it down after about 5-10 puffs and pick it up again maybe 5-10 minutes later (or maybe that is chain vaping :glare: ). Do you think the eroll will be right for me?

Apologies if there's already a similar thread but I couldn't seem to find anything :)

Thank you!

Zoe/Socky

Woah! That is a lot of battery charging and changing!

I started on the old skycig, lasted about a week before I gave it to a friend.

The battery capacity of the cig-a-likes is dreadful, which is understandable considering their tiny size.

E-roll battery is 90mAh and the juice cartridges hold 0.4ml, the average amount that people vape in a day is around 3ml (from looking at posts about that on here), so that is 7 cartridge refills a day on the e-roll.

I think the cartridges for the SkyCig etc have a capacity of around 1-1.5ml.

It does sound like you vape quite a bit, have had a look at any of the clearomizer kits? It does sound like you could do with a larger capacity battery & tank kit...

It is a lot of changing but with a PCC it doesn't really matter, especially as that's what I'm used to. I guess I'll have to see how I get on with the eRoll and maybe look into something else if it's not right but I think it'll be good, it might actually be good for me to vape a little less anyway and go back to using it when I would usually smoke rather than vaping for the sake of vaping!

The eRoll might be perfect for you, in 5 or 10 minutes the battery in the PCC would be fully recharged and ready. And carrying extra tanks will get you through the day, they plug in easily, I've switched tanks while driving (but don't tell CHP ;)) ...

If you like the eRoll, but want a slightly bigger tank and battery, take a look at the Oval Elips. It seems a bit expensive, but the starter kit includes 2 complete units and spare parts. The PCC is small enough for a purse or pocket, and it uses the same atomizer as the eRoll ...

Can't figure out why the Elips is not more popular, I think I might be the only member on ECF who uses one ...

Yeah, whatever works for you is all good.

For what it is worth the eroll does look far better than the skycig. The cartridge system they use is pretty handy for switching up flavours quickly and with no hassle. The PCC has a 1000mAh capacity so should be good for at least a day's worth of vaping.
At least now you will be able to vape some of the delicious flavours that are out there!

Ah crap I hadn't seen that one! I really like the design - a lot of other PVs offend me but it looks really neat still! Maybe I'll have to invest in another one if I get more into vaping, but hopefully the eRoll is a good jumping off point for me - no going back now anyway as joyetech don't accept returns unless it's faulty  the PCC is a big selling point for me though so I think I'm happy... for now

I use mechanical mods, rebuildables etc on a daily basis but I do like traditional style e-cigs for backups, the car, office here and there depending on my mood. Recently I got the chance to play with the Vaporzone express kit and while the cartridges of any brand have never really done it for me the micro tank available for this kit, is pretty stellar compared to a traditional cartridge, might be worth you taking a look at.

Yeah but the eRoll is 90mah right? I don't know what the skycig one is so I have no idea how it'll compare!

The eGo type batteries - basically the industry standard - are like 1000 mah.
The 18650 batteries that people use in mods are like 2000 mah.

Those little cigalike automatic batteries are in that 100 mah region;; size matters.
If you use cigalike batteries, you're probably going to want like a pack of 10 or something I imagine.

Thing is, with the E-roll, whenever you're not using the unit its charging in its PCC. So unless you're literally sucking on it 24/7, you shouldn't need more than 1 pcc and 2 full eroll cig-a-likes (plus tanks obv).

I think I'll be ok, as I only have 2 skycig batteries at the moment plus the PCC and that easily gets me through the day. I can charge the PCC overnight along with my phone and will be able to have 2 complete erolls to swap over, hopefully it's not going to be an issue :D

1 pcc is kind of bothersome to me; no backup.

when I got into ego batts I soon aquired an arsenal of 6; unfortunately I only was using 2 rechargers and had 1 at home and 1 at work, so it kinda took awhile before I figured out when the one at home wasn't working and that might have contributed to my ego batts failing;;

so don't those eroll batts charge from the common 120ma dongle 510 thread chargers? or do you have to use the eroll charger?

Socky will have to carry around an extra backpack for all the batteries/PCCs...

My original Elips batteries just got "retired" after a full year of heavy everyday use. And the design is solid, good quality parts for the price ... :thumb:

I could never decide whch I liked better, the eRoll or the Elips, so i ended up carrying both ...

The Elips has a stronger vape and "warmer", more like an analog. The eRoll feels "cold", but then I'm vaping menthol juices ...

The Elips battery is 350 mAh, so almost 4 times the capacity of the eRoll, and both are perfect for stealth vaping, can be completely concealed in the hand ...

And the Elips is, well, elliptical. Won't roll away from you like the E Roll (I lost two that way so far) ...

I wish I could take the best features of both and merge them ...

Joytech and Ovale, are you listening ? :D

E-rolls charge in the PCC and PCC only, they dont even have 510 threads, whole system is proprietary.

You can get the whole kits (2 erolls minus the extra atty sleeve, and the pcc) for $35-45, so worst case scenario buy two of um to have a backup and 4 erolls (you will need 2 extra atty sleeves)

Socky will have to carry around an extra backpack for all the batteries/PCCs...

There are a lot of people who have been using e-rolls for a LONG time and, from what i've seen, most report to get a full day out of a PCC. Personally ive never run mine all the way down but its more a novelty to me and not a setup i use regularly (have 2 of um, im a mech/rda guy).
