AHHHH!!!! It's so aggravating... They never say everything about e cigs. Like you can smoke them non nicotine? I started smoking at 12, so for 8 years of smoking analogs (Kool Filter Kings/Newports, pack a day) as a growing teen (I know I am an idiot) I decided to switch over to the e cig because of the prices on cigarettes going up and my fiance hates smoking with a passion. I feel better, breath better, and I don't have nicotine in my liquid anymore, I have a habit of smoking, not addicted to the nicotine, obviously. I just wish they would mention that.

Gotta love Cheryl Healton. Eventually, she will do some light reading on the electronic cigarette that doesn't come from a memo and maybe change her uneducated perspective. Oh well. The fight continues on.

I can't "love" anything about her. Everything I've read about her just pi$$e$ me off. She's so biased in her own agenda.

I've just emailed her organization to let them know I'm willing to share my personal experiences with this product. If they are truly looking out for the public's well being, then that means they should be willing to hear my story, right?

Yeah, I'm not holding my breath either. :D Doesn't mean I'm not going to contact everyone in opposition to the e-cigarette remaining on the US market.

I think I found the problem. From the American Legacy website
An engaging and outspoken advocate for improving public health, Dr. Healton is a former smoker herself, who lost her own mother and several close family members to tobacco-related disease and provides a unique view of tobacco control issues from a smoker’s perspective. She has a first-hand understanding of addiction and has devoted herself to finding real world solutions to smoking cessation.

And, we all know that some of the worst antis are former smokers. One of my favorites being the ones that say "Why dont you just quit? Just stop; it's not that difficult." *rolls eyes*

Well, looking on the bright side, she did concede at the end that, if studies are done and they are shown to be 'safe' then it could be a huge breakthrough

From what I can gather from our conversation with her group, they are not against the ecig... if and only if they are FDA approved smoking cessation devices. So I would take this as them keeping their options open.

Her livelihood depends on money from the sales of cigarettes and from Nicorette and grant money from RWJF. She is not about to lose her job and her salary because e cigs are a better alternative. It is NOT about health. It is only about money and control.

A sad... but very true fact. :-x
