Last week I bought two (always need a back up) pro tank 2s to use on my Zmax. Straight out of the box one worked fine (*edit..I originally said it worked great but now I know better) but the second one had issues. The draw on it was so tight it was like trying to drink an extra thick milk shake with a swizzle stick. Barely even usable. I took it apart, fiddled with it, loosened it up, tightened it up…nothing. So I went ahead and ordered an aerotank base for it. Vapemail finally arrived today (less than a week but so anticipated) and...Ahhhh. Success. So much better. Nice airy draw and tons of vapor. All is well in the world today.

Anyone try using the kanger airflow control valve ($4.95) on a PT2? Instead of buying the areotank kit or just the areo base.
Wondering how it compares to using the aero base (or is it the same device). Also, wondering why they (Kanger) advertise an air control valve for an aero when it already has one!? Same damn product?! Confused...

Just a guess, but could the base be designed to allow the single coil heads to be used in the ProTank 2 yet still allow for an Aerotank-like adjustment? Otherwise I too don't understand why the ProTank 2 could even use such a thing.

Yes, the aerotank base or "protank air control base" as it's called fits the original PT2 single coil. I simply replaced the base and used the existing coil. It made a huge difference in my set up.

I thought if you got the Aerotank base and used it with a ProTank you needed to use the dual coil heads, ie. effectively turning the ProTank into an Aerotank but what you say means it still is a single coil device. Am I completely confused here or ?
