So I bought a nice digital auto-ranging multimeter (Craftsman) at Sears yesterday. Every time I try and check the ohms of a coil on my AGA-T2 the numbers just bounce around continuously.
I built my first coil using 28awg today. I did 4 wraps and have no idea what the ohms are. My meter won't tell me!

Any help would be awesome.

Thanks.

I can't seem to get it to work with measuring ohms. Everything else that I've used it for seems to work perfectly.

I'm making my first coil on my new RSST later today and I'll see if it works on that. But when I tried to look at the ohms on my AGA's coil (after being used) it wouldn't work.

If the coil is used or un used make a difference in measuring ohms?

some take 30 seconds or more to settle down too

First you need to know the resistance of the lead wires, touch them together until it settles down a few seconds then subtract that from the lowest reading on your coil. Touch the positive to the positive screw then touch the negative to the negative screw wait til it settles down and take your reading.

Yup
