I'm having some weird readings with my multimeter, or at least, I think they're weird. When I meter with the positive lead on the positive post, it's reading about .2-.3 lower than if I switch them up. By wraps and gauges, I should be closer to where it's reading with the pos lead on the neg post. What's going on?

using a multi meter in this situation will basically never be 100% accurate, multi meters don't do a good job of measuring low ohms.
Also, even if they could or they can, just the leads alone on the meter have resistance. so, if you must a use the MM measure the resistance of the leads touching together and after you get the reading of the coil subtract the readings of the leads.

the black box ohm checkers are not expensive and do a wonderful job with true readings. plus they provide a excellent base to build coils on.

Using an MM it's harder but better to test at the 510 connector, positive on center pin and negative on threads. This way you're testing the resistance of the entire RBA and getting the reading that the Reo will see, but it really wont be that big a difference. More importantly it lets you test with the cap on to make sure you are not shorting on the cap. If using a metal drip tip test with that installed to make sure you're not shorting on that as well.

I've had issues w/ my MM. It's just not accurate enough for me, it's good enough to test for shorts but thats about all. I have had issues when there was some juice on the posts giving me readings that were way off. My meter was running .2 - .3 ohms high, but it was the same regardless of polarity. I think your intermittent issue is the connection from the point to the post.
