I figured I would post them in one thread I did not want to spam threads.

I hear that stacking batteries can be bad... is this true?

My current mod the xhaler my batteries, button and tube get hot... A is this dangerous and B. is it from stacking?

Also do CR123a batteries fit the p18 well or do they wiggle a little bit (if so how can I fix it?

Thank you =D

I am definitely not an expert but I only vape at 6v+ so I only use stacked batteries but I have never had my mod get hot from it and yes I believe if it is getting hot, then that is dangerous. As far as the rest of your questions I am sure someone will respond quickly.

123 A batteries are 16mm vs 18 mm for 18650 batteries, so yes, there is some play. Other then a sleeve, i have heard of some wrapping the batteries with a layer or two of duct tape or electrical tape. Most just run the batteries as is though. It shouldn't get "hot", but some heat is normal, especially up in the cap/atomizer area, but down by the button you won't see much of any change.

Now I am scared, I dont want to blow my jaw off =/

my whole unit and button get about half as hot as my atty

Tenergy rcr123a i both my LiPO4 and my Li-ion do it... also like i said it is in my Xhaler (dont know if that has anything to do with it)
What attys are you using?

You have a right to be scared because no unit should be getting hot with usage PERIOD. Something is askew here and I do not know what.

I have had great success using my tenergy 900s with both my Chameleon and P18. That being said I only use them with XHV attys and although they are stressed not as much as most. I know I am decreasing my battery longevity in doing so, but they will be replaced with AW LifePO4s down the road.

Your yellows are being stressed almost at twice the rate of your blues:

  • yellow = 0.55A max draw
  • blue = 0.9A max draw
That being said, which ones are over heating the most? Either way they are not safe for use. What are you charging them on? and how old are they?

Switched, I use a regular 510 atty... My batteries are semi hot... and the button and sleeve are slightly hotter...

My blue 900s are 1 month old and I have 5pairs so very slight use

I no longer use my yellow but they were doing it also, they are 6months old and I only have 2... my other pair melted in my pocket... burning my leg and my thumb...

They heat up about the same ( i cant tell )

Also it takes awhile to heat up... after a decent amount of vaping it heats up not an instantaneous heating

Are you charging your batts on the same charger? or are you using a regular charger?

A regular charger cannot charge these batts!

... and there is a charger specifically for the blue and yellows! and neither one is recommended by the mfr to be used interchangeably.
