Negatory. American woman was writen by The Guess Who, not lenny kravits. I also think you cheated w/ Ameri being a prefix.:glare:
Lenny Kravitz reached #49 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1999 with American Woman, a cover of the original (I think). Fair game.

What was your alternate choice? Too late now, the game has moved on.

It doesn't say I have to list the original. :glare: And just trying to change it up a bit, sort of like earlier we kept coming back to "you". I propose two new rules. No one word songs and you must do your best to not match the same word as the person before matched.

You got me there, I guess I read it wrong. And I agree on the not using the same word 5 times in a row(eventhough I've done it), but I still protest that Ameri is not a prefix. America comes from the name of Columbus' navigator Americo Vespucci, and is therfor not a prefix.:2cool:

Well, I don't see a problem with single word titles, really. If I posted "Think - Aretha Franklin", it would be very easy for someone to come up with another title containing the word "think" in it.

Sometimes, going after the same word for a string of posts is kind of interesting, don't you think? Kind of like a short running theme. They never last too long.

I have pondered that posters should, however, be required to look back at least a small number of posts to assure they aren't listing a song which has been posted recently. What think you? And, how do you feel about my feedback to your suggestions? Am I full of it?

Just a humble suggestion.

Perhaps using word fragments should have a minimum character limit. Otherwise, it would be legitimate to use one or two letters. But, IMO, five characters ought to be enough. I'm listening.

it's good to discuss these things before my ability to edit the rules runs out.

I think any "actual" english suffix or prefix is fine, so would hyphenations. Slang should be fine, as long as the term actually contains the word in question. How 'bout that?
