haha...my post looked like it was typed by a hooked on phonics dropout.

this is my fav video of Ed on youtube...

YouTube - Awesome Electric Violin - Ed Busking Chester

an amazing performance...

Here's a good one from Nightwish:

YouTube - Nightwish - Over the hills and far away

probably not everyone's cup of tea...but I love it.
They have a different singer now than the one in the vid...and most people hate her..but I like the new stuff as well as the the old.

Not metal enough.

I just discovered the joys that are Nightwish and Groove Coverage. I have a thing for foreign metal and Nightwish are amazing. The cover songs that Groove Coverage does are pretty good too...Especially Poison, and Moonlight Shadow.

Also amazing: Ed Alleyne-Johnson. I played bass in a band for several years and always wanted to run an electric violin through effects pedals...the rest of the band thought it was a stupid idea...watch some of his videos on youtube...its amazing stuff and definitely NOT stupid.

Ahhh!! Nightwish is amazing!! I discovered them on some goofy youtube vid a few years ago. It's so completely crazy. It's like going to opera for a night of foreign metal. gives me the giggles.

I'm a supa music dork, my 180gb ipod is maxed out; and that doesn't include the 5,000+ vinyl record collection downstairs or all the crap on my laptop.

Oh, I also have a room upstairs with all kinds of classical and ethnic instruments and I have a full recording studio in my basement.

But the true sign of a dork is someone who can go on and on about something, and be completely oblivious that the people around them really don't give a dam, that's so me

Got any recommendations for some good house?
I just checked out Dimitri from Paris. He's good! Reminds me a bit of Mylo. Worth checking out if you don't know him :)

Good house? What style?
Here are some of my favorites

Dimitri from paris- De-luxe house of Funk
(Oldschool french, lounge, and a bit o disco)

A:xus- the guidance collection
(very deep, jazzy- anything affiliated with guidance is some of the deepest house you will ever hear)

Joey Beltram- sounds of 2am
(a bit harder and more techy, heavy on the chicago sound)

Global house culture 3- Orlando Vorn vs. DJ piere
(old school filtered hard house- it's 36 cents on Amazon!!!)

Any mixtape affiliated with the Defected record label
(a lot of deep stuff, a lot of disco stuff- be careful they do have some cheese ball club crap)

Any Charles Feelgood
(can't go wrong whether he goes deep or hard)

Any Derick Carter
(laid back drunk and funky)

Dj Tiesto,Paul Oakenfold,Spit,Enil Lassaria,Faithless,D. Ramirez,David Guetta,Deep Dish,Dj Optik,Yves Larock,D.O.N.S Three Drives,Tom Boxer,Fly Project etc-just a few of my favs-so house/dance music is my catch.
Fav song right now its a remix by Emil Lassaria - Balada lui Ciprian Porumbescu(Remix).
Romanian Dj who remixed a very famous romanian classic song played by one of the biggest composers of all times.

Hmm Tiesto and PauL Okenfold well what trance lover doesn't like those :D I have no favourite artists in trance right now, some tracks are amazing, others very bad even from the same producer!! Its just not the same these days for me, Above and Beyond I like when they don't play sissy trance

The house music ohhh yeaa still enjoying that muchly, especially when engaged in a full on four four mix and then the next tune is even better especially the older tracks!!

Been listening to ambient too, Steve Roach is awesome!!

Music geek right here.

Big fan of Tom Waits, Nick Cave, Sun Ra, Captain Beefheart... list goes on.

Beefheart went to school with one Frank Zappa :cool::cool::thumb:

I love most types of music, depends on my mood, but in the interests of derailing this thread from the trance/house trend I bring you "Scraped" from the latest Guns n' Roses Album "Chinese Democracy"

YouTube - Guns N' Roses- Scraped

BOOOO, House is the best
GnR have AfD that's enough, (best album in that genere)
Chinese democracy is like trying to bring back Mili Vanilli minus the vanilli since he hung himself
:p
