Must cleaned atty's be stored wet?

I just started cleaning atty's and want to know if it is alright to store them dry. They arrive with a packing solution, so I would guess they need to stay moist, but has anyone left them for a week or so dry and still fine? If it's best to keep moist, then how many drops does it take?

From what I have read about cleaning attys, you are supposed to let them air dry for 12-24 hours. I am pretty sure that as long as you don't fire them, they can be stored dry. I am sure someone will be along before I can even press the post button to give you a better answer.

That should work fine. I get my attys with no primer liquid. So as long as you put 3-4 drops and let it soak for 30 secs, it should fire up as normal. I also clean my attys once they get tight. I soak them in vodka for 24 hrs, rinse hot water, soak another 24 hrs, rinse again then let dry till my other atty gets tight. As of right now my attys gets tight after 2 days even if its brand new. LR510s...the insulator/seal keeps expanding on me and blocking my 2 lil air holes. but w/e I love my 1.5 so I bought 6 and just rotate them. If I somehow run out I just use my 306 with a 306-510 adapter for my drip tip.

Thanks for the info. Sounds like I can store them dry and prime them for use. That makes sense.

Yes, I also have best luck letting them air dry and making sure they are moist before use such as Animeguy suggests.

Storing attys dry could lead to oxidation which could shorten the coil life. They come from the manufacturer with primer all over/in them for that reason.

I usually use about 4 drops of my favorite juice in them after cleaning and before setting aside for any length of time.

I've always stored my attys dry, and never noticed any kind of problem from doing that. My attys last a very long time.

Keeping them moist sounds logical if those 4 drops don't dry to a hard crust after a week. I think I'll drip some juice on a small piece of steel wool and see how long it stays moist. Thanks again for the input.

Storing them dry won't hurt anything and coil oxidation is very unlikely to occur unless they are stored for an extended period of time in a uncontrolled climate.

On the off chance it does happen just put the dry atty on the battery and fire it up till the coil glows evenly....which I do anyway and it'll burn it off. Add juice and you're ready to vape.
