This is from the Halo's website:

"Nicotine level is a measure of the actual amount of nicotine present, and indicates the strength of the e-liquid. The following can be used as a guideline for selecting the appropriate nicotine level, but will vary by individual:

0 mg/ml: Contains no-nicotine
6 mg/ml: Similar to an Ultra-Light Cigarette
12 mg/ml: Similar to a Light Cigarette
18 mg/ml: Similar to a Full Cigarette
24 mg/ml: Similar to a Full/Unfiltered Cigarette"

I am assuming that "nicotine level is a measure of the actual amount of nicotine present, and indicates the strength of the e-liquid" means that the whole bottle contains 12mg/ml of nicotine, for example. Is that correct?

It's per ml.

I am trying to quit American Spirits, Sage Pack Medium Filter. It says, it contains: Nicotine (N)1.67 mg. I am assuming this is per cigarette. So, 1.67 X 20 cigarettes = 33.4 mg of Nicotine per a pack. So, basically, I can select any nicotine content, it is just a matter of how much liquid I want to use to get to approximately 33.4 mg of Nicotine. The only question is, does the amount of Nicotine in a juice affect how it tastes?

I have only ever tried 24 (VERY briefly) and 18mg juices. I can't answer how much the nic content affects taste. Hopefully someone more experienced than me will chime in on that. I am curious too. I would like to lower my nic intake if I can.

I smoked 1.5 packs a day, Camel lights. I never paid attention to the Nic content. It's just what I was comfortable with. I can tell you that the first juices I ordered were 24mg and that was way too high for me. I am comfortable at 18mg, and have no analog cravings. 18mg should be close to 1.8mg per cigarette (if I understand it correctly). This is close to your 1.67mg. So try that level and see how it goes.

I don't find the nic level in juice to analog estimates all that helpful myself though. the nic in the Vapor absorbs differently and slower than it does from analog smoke. So I find that I am pretty much vaping all the time. I am okay with that, my co-workers and wife are okay with it, so it is working out well. but there is going to be experimentation to figure out what works for you. I am by no means an expert. I am pushing 1 month vaping and 2 weeks since my last analog, so again, hopefully someone smarter than me will chime in.

As for the Halo sampler, yes, if those flavors appeal to you get them. Or get another, they have 4 varieties of samplers now. Also if you are lucky enough to have a local shop, go there and try everything you can. Order a sampler from other places as well. I like stuff from my local shop and from Halo. I haven't tried much else though, but I personally don't feel the need to (except Boba's Bounty, but again their hours have made it difficult for me to order). I am liking what I have for now, and spent enough money already to boot. =)

Boba's Bounty is some good stuff but there site is closed for a couple of weeks. There is another knock off site that sells a liquid under the same name but from what I've heard it's no where near as good. Avejuice.com is the official site.

I've only tried a few different vendors so far but my favorite is the Plume Room. Their Vanilla Caramel Frappuccino is one of my all day vapes but everything I've tried from there is very good. They may take a few days to ship though.

Another suggestion is Vermillion River. Their Kentucky blends are pretty good. Kentucky Applewood is another of my all day vapes. Every time I have ordered from them my order is shipped the next business day.

I have only tried one flavor from Halo so far and that was Tribeca, didn't like it at all but many love it. I do have a couple more flavors on the way from them though.

As far as nicotine content goes, 18mg/ml means there's 18mg of nic per ml of liquid. Usually more nic also equals more throat hit and can also have an affect on the taste. I was a pack a day Marlboro light smoker and 10 or 12mg/ml works for me. I tried 15 and 18 but it was just a little too harsh tasting to me, gave everything a bit of a peppery taste.

Yes, that's correct

You're looking for a similar feel when smoking one analog, unless you're stuffing 20 in your mouth at once . I had smoked unfiltered Camels and started with a 24mg liquid to satisfy my addiction.

I've been smoke-free 13 months and use a variety of nicotine levels depending on the time of day and stress level. basically I normally use 18 or 12mg during the morning & Afternoon and drop to 8-6mg after 6PM. High Stress or the occasional strong craving normally gets 24mg and I keep 36mg on hand, as in Emergency Break Glass cases.

I'm not looking to stop nicotine intake altogether and that's just a personal decision. The amount of mg/ml does alter the taste but IMO not significantly, unless you're going from a high level to zero.

I like Coffee, Hazelnut and Fruits from Virgin Vapor and I DIY for the simple flavors. Mountain Oak, Backwoods Brew and Vermillion River satisfy my Tobacco choices, and I do prefer the NET (Naturally Extracted Tobacco) juices over the synthetics. For Synthetics Tobaccos I'd stick with Dekang or Hangsen, they're inexpensive and good nuf out of the mailbox.

i sampled 4 or 5 vendors to see what they had. some winners but the clear winner in terms of x out of X# of samples i liked is Mister E-liquid. The first 5 i liked 3 so i ordered 30 mL of each and another 5 sampler. i like 3 out of 5 again. and this is with only 7 to 10 days steeping incl shipping time. Will try all again after 3 weeks.

i also found out RYO and their variants are too leather chem for me. won't be trying anymore of that. try a sampler Mr. E knows what he's doin

Alice in Vapeland. They usually open at 11PM on Tuesday night, or midnight Wednesday morning and are only open for maybe 12 hours or so. Then you have to wait about 2 weeks for the juice, which is why I didn't order from them for so long, but WOW! Their juices are definitely worth it. I recommend White Rabbit, Twas Brillig, Zombie Apocalypse, Lemon Loves Cake, Mystic Mandalime, A Quiet Morning, Pun'kin Tumble & Bandersnatch (but really, you can't go wrong if you order the A Little Bit of Everything sampler pack).

If you like VG base, I recommend Velvet Cloud Vapor. If you want tobacco, their Blue Beard, Ice Beard, White Beard & Caramel Tobacco are all really good (but need to steep about two weeks for the flavors to blend really well). I also like Harvest Berry, Mewlew's Magic, Campfire, Monkey Business & Nightshift.

Roar Vapor for Truth Serum (coconut/pear) & Antidote (I think it's blueberry lemonade). A lot of people rave about many of their flavors, but I've only tried about 8 and those are the only 2 I can remember right now.

I recommend Mt Baker Vapor, but no specific flavors. They have pretty good juice at a really low price, and it's very customizable. I personally really like Rockstar (though I think when I re-order I'll have them add one extra shot of flavor) and Sticky Bun so far.

I just started down the juice path myself. Evidently even just starting out vaping i'm kinda a super taster. I made an order to mt baker vapor and the only one I could handle was the freebie white tea. LOL. hows that for irony. The white tea is very very light. So I read reviews on alice in vapeland being "light" flavors and made a sampler pack order and then a week later went ahead and ordered a second sampler plus a bigger zombie and 2 of the lab juices. I just got my first order in yesterday (they take awhile to ship) and I started off with zombie since I ordered a bigger bottle which I should get next week. OMFG...it's yum. and its fairly heavy IMHO. I could do with almost half the ammt of flavor and still enjoy. a few of the flavors I ordered def need steeping (bandersnatch smells like a buttery nipple complete with the alcohol like nose to it. its the main juice needing a steep I think!) and are doing so right now. The cherry tea reminds me of the MBV white tea...very light with just a whiff of flavor.
I think i'm going to like ALL of them....pretty sure i'll be one of those diehards with a couple big bottles at all times from AIV :)
after almost 2 weeks of steeping on my MBV order, *maybe* 1-2 of them might be vapeable. I'll try while waiting for my other stuff to steep I think.

I also was suckered into velvet cloud vapor because of the reviews and very original site design. Plus the owner(s) post and seem like they are really in love with making juice. I like both AIV and VCV for that reason - hopefully I feel the same about VCV's juice!
I only have a spinner right now, and a few clearos...so I am waiting on a few orders for more juice since 95% of my first orders failed...lol. Part of the allure was the VCV starter kit with 50mls of juice plus a batt, clearos, and charger kit. supposedly they are going to have sampler packs soon.

So far i've found the flavors I think i'll like...I don't. the ones i'm "meh" on and wouldn't have ordered, I love. I'm glad so many companies throw in freebies....esp while i'm still new :)
I ordered a sample of white rabbit from AIV because of the fans - but since it supposedly has a coconut flavor to it...I was weary because I HATE coconut....smelled it and pre-steep it smells YUMM! so its very likely i'll be a big fan of vaping it too. Case in point! hahaa...

I was just about to make a thread like this myself. For the past year + I've been exclusive to 3 flavors and haven't ordered any samples. Those 3 flavors are

Ecto Plasma
Ecto Chill
Tiger's Blood

All from JV. I mix all 3 into 1 tank. Tastes amazing.

Today I was in the mood for something new so I decided to look into all these cool flavors I haven't tried. I found a tally on another site with top 5:

Honery Peary - Vapor Chef - 18
Boba's Bounty - AVE - 8
Oooorah - Indigo - 3
The Duke - Indigo - 3
Legend - Heather's - 3
Unicorn Blood - Fuzion - 3
Red Drop - Mountain Oak - 3
Extreme Ice - MBV - 3
Twas Brillig - Alice - 3
House Blend - Copper Creek - 3

Out of those I ordered:
Honey Peary - Vapor Chef
Oooorah - Indigo
The Duke - Indigo
Unicorn Blood - Fuzion

And 1 or 2 other flavors per those 3 vendors.

My wishlight is:

Alice in Vapeland bit of everything
Pluid
Boba's Bounty (once all the CC stuff is sorted :))

I'm basically wanting to try all the VERY VERY popular, signature, known by name liquids that are out there :D

I'm only buying all my juice from Mister-E Liquids. Sweet Smarts (tastes like smarties candies), Berry A-Peelin' (strawberry/banana), and Pure Michigan (apple/strawberrry) - are my top 3 vapes. Pure Michigan is by far the best juice I've had since I started vaping last Fall, and for the last month and a half to two months, it has been the one and only juice I've been vaping, with only a few drags here and there on a clearo filled with Berry-A-Peelin' or Sweet Smarts. PM has a smooth mild flavor, the blend of strawberry and apple is subtle. The flavor is not overpowering, not overly strong, just a nice subtle sweet taste that seems to get stronger as it steeps. I actually like it best when it's fresher, before it's steeped.

Pardon my newbie-ness, but what do you guys mean by steeping a juice? Letting it sit in a tank/cart/etc for a while before vaping it?
Shake it up well, take the top off, and let it set in a cool dry place for a while in it's bottle. I don't know exactly how it helps but it does make some liquids taste much better.
