When you put in a 26awg, does your atomizer work as before?
If so, go to steam engine, plug in your build numbers. note your heatflux.
When going to 24awg, you are adding a lot of metal mass..

When I had the 26ga with 5 wraps on .22ohm it was like heaven. The tast the vape production was just the way I liked it.

But with 24ga I'm on .17 ohm with 7 wraps and 2.5mm. this is a new build I did yesterday. But still get mute flavour with a hint of burn tast on 60w.

What do u mean by the "get a lot of metal mass"? Doesn't the 26ga have more metal then the 24ga?

just putt my build stats on steam engine, i dont know how to make of it of the result. dont know what to look for.

Welcome and glad you joined. Your getting some good advice, hang in there. rda's can simplify experimentation if you are careful to hold/fix all variables and change one at a time to obtain your goal.

Thanks that's good to know. I thought it was easy building tanks but never thought it would be so complex try and error experiment. But thanks for the welcoming committee. :)

24ga is a thicker wire so with the same wrap number and coil diameter it has a larger mass, requiring more power to heat up and also cooling down slower.

Look at heat flux, yours in the green@202. your vape=disapointing.

Now plug in your 26awg, Use those numbers & check heat flux. Write down numbers for comparison.

A whole wrap,,legs will be.north/south.
A half wrap,,both legs north..

If the vape is good then it should be on the red instead of the green?

How do I get it on the red side?
I don't have any of the 26ga left, but I get some on payday. :) I'm a student so I don't have so much money to play around with :)

Does that mean a 26ga wire are thinner than a 24ga in the diameter? Like the higher number the thinner wire.

If the the mass is larger, so I need more cotton or less cotton to wick it?

that is correct. the smaller the guage the thicker the wire. Example 22 gauge is thicker then 26 gauge

as far as cotton goes that depends on the inside diameter of the coil. personally i always build mine between 2.5-4mm 3mm most of the time

That's good to know. I'm such a noob. :)

My go to diameter is 3mm that's the right size for me, but when I put the cotton in it's tight, but not that tight like the coils are moving a bit with the cotton. Maybe I should try to do that?

too tight. I'd suggest checking out the aromamzier supreme review on my channel where I show how to build and wick it. it'll be easier to watch then me explaining it in text ;)

actually use this one

its a better camera angle ;)

so you wiggled the cotton so it wasn't too tight? cut the wicks on an angle?
it has to be the wire i'm thinking. try a different wire maybe?
or the tank? did you ever wash it? my supreme didn't personally but i've gotten tanks that had a funky flavor until you washed them.

i use the scottish role technic when im wicking. it was'nt tight and cut like the video on the ends. i got more vape then tast this time.

right now this wire is the only wire i've got to work with. i think its the wire thats something wrong with. because get the same mute tast on my 2 other tanks. (avocado 24 and the mage)

i wash it when i change flavor. and some time if there are to much liqued on the deck and the rest of the tank.

maybe try a different technique or cotton? personally I use cotton bacon. seems to work the best to me. Also if the wire is kenthal to you dry burn it first to glowing to burn off chemicals?
to me SS316 wire and cotton bacon is the best taste

I know alot of people who use and love ko gen do. maybe that'll work better for you?
or try a different wire 1st? that should be easy to find.
before using cottom bacon i used regular organic cotton balls for a pharmacy. they worked fine as well just the first few hits had a funny taste but it went away quick.
