Hello I have been vaping Kayfuns for about 4 months now, I have 4 Kayhuns 2 Lite plus's, a Lite and a 91%.So I broke down and paid the high amount for the Mini 2.1 to place in my Akston Huges SL, it fits great in there (sorry I can post any pics yet but I will soon).
So what I,m finding is that the mini mutes the flavor as a Pro tank does. I have wicked with silica and cotton as I do use both and all my flavors that taste vibrant in the Kayfuns are all muted in the Mini 2.1. Is that the taste profile of the Mini are could I try something different. I have used all my experience that I've learned from my Lite's such as a high coil a low coil and nothing works just muted flavor.

Don't have one but just studying the design, the unit is way to long. Very long chimney plus long tip gives the Vapor a lot of distance to travel, cool and become muted.

If you are using it in Long mode, give it a try in Short and see if flavor improves.
Air flow also can play a key role. Have you maxed the Air to test?

The distance is actually less than a kayfun Lite, but I do have it in short mode. And as for air flow I have tried loose and tight draws, the same muted flavor:(

Hi, in my experience with the kayfun mini, I've not found muted flavors at all. I'm not sure I could tell the difference between it and my KFL+ except the sound of the air draw is somewhat different. I use a microcoil (30 ga. kanthal on a 5/64" or 1/16" drill bit) at anywhere from 1.4 up to about 2.0 ohms, usually around 1.7, with cotton. I've discovered that muted flavor happens, for me, when I've used too much cotton. Tthe best flavor and best operating builds, again, for me, tend to use less cotton than a lot of the builds I've seen posted here. I have just enough cotton on either side of the deck to reach the floor of the deck, and pushed up against the side, leaving the juice grooves completely clear. Doesn't look like a whole lot but I never get dry hits, get lots of vapor, and gobs of flavor. Try a minimal cotton build and see if that helps.

A couple of other things to consider. I think the mini is more sensitive to the air draw than the KFL+, and it took a bit for me to dial it in just right. Also, I realized one day when I'd left it standing that the narrow and tall profile makes some juices more prone to, well, not separating, but making a gradient so that the juice is not well mixed. Especially when it's cold, like it is where I am. So I've gotten used to tilting it sideways, upside down, and just keeping it well mixed.

Just a couple of thoughts.

The flavor in my Kayfun mini is truly a lot better than in my kfl+.. I use 28 ga. with a 1.3 to 1.8 build with organic hemp and sometimes bamboo...WOW is all I can say. Less wick is better imo.
Agreed. The flavor in my mini is even greater than my Kayfuns (hard to do since the Kayfun's flavor is pretty good). I have even ordered a couple more. I use 30 ga....5/64 dia. micro coil....cotton....1.8 ohms. I use it in short mode as I never use plastic tanks.

I found and ordered another 2.1 the other day myself. Man what a chore it is to find the authentic one's.
