Hi everyone,

So I placed an order from Nicoticket last month. I ended up picking up Creme Brulee and Custard's Last Stand. Reading so much about these juices, I had a hard time putting them in the steep lair. I resisted temptation and let them sit for a month and did my random shakings (I'd be lying if I said I did it daily). Finally got to that month period and loaded up the Kayfun. Creme Brulee was my first victim. After loading it up, I took my first puff and it tasted very muted. I let it sit in the tank overnight thinking maybe something was up with my taste buds. Same thing occurred. I'm using this on a Nemesis with a Kick 2 and have adjusted the Wattage from 8.5 to 15 and everything in between. Same thing. I finished the tank and just figured this wasn't my cup of tea. No big deal.

I then tried Custards Last Stand. Pretty much the exact same thing. Very muted flavor. I tried dripping this one as well. Improvement on the dripping but the same thing.

I realize I didn't get a "bad batch" because obviously there would be more people saying the same thing. I also realize this liquid is top notch because look at the awards Clark and Katy have won. Look at the response on the forums. I mean, Nicoticket's reputation speaks for itself. I could put this juice on ECF's classifieds and sell it in 10 minutes if I wanted to.

So here's my questions. Are Nicoticket's flavors generally very light? Is it possible there's an ingredient in both of these juices my taste buds just aren't responding to? I've tried tons of custards and CLS was the lightest one I've ever tried (aside from MBV's which tasted like hot chemical trash). For reference, I've tried Grants (which I gave a pinky finger up to get), Headys, MBV, and Yaliq in the past.

If anyone has any other suggestions, I do have a large variety of Cartos, Clearos, RBAs I can try the juice in. I just don't want to burn through them if this is just the way the juices are crafted. All that being said, the customer service, shipping, packaging and personalized note on the invoice just made me want to keep buying from Nicoticket. Thanks in advance everyone.

PS. I realize the whole Vapor Tongue thing, but this is the only juice that I've really had this with right out of the box.

I know that Clark usually gives some info on the types of cartos/clearos/tanks that have been used, and a result, in the description on the site...

http://www.nicoticket.com/creme-brulee/

That might help a bit....

He's also been known to work with customers on the hardware issues. Wouldn't hurt to send a PM (knowing him, he'll post something here today...)

For me, they were light foob. CLS hit for me, cb not so much. It was a few weeks in, when they started to darken that they really started to pop. Even the cb became quite enjoyable. My suggestion would be to chuck them in a drawer for a month, then try them again. This juice really is one that gets better with age. Hope it comes around for you as well.

While Nicoticket's flavors are not the strongest juices I have ever tried, they definetely are not light in my opinion. Seems weird since you did let them steep for a month. I know CB takes a good amnt of time to really develop and does taste a bit light out of the mailbox, but CLS hits fresh and gets even more decadent with age. Cartos/Clearos always seem to mute flavors a bunch, maybe throw them in a nice dripper setup, I would be shocked if they didn't hit hard. Intrigued here, keep us updated

Fantastic feedback - obviously I'll do everything I can to help ensure you get that "world-class flavor" that the reviews promised.

One thing I *really appreciate* is that you at least included a the device that your attempting to use it in. Piece key piece of information I would really need to help is the build on the Kayfun...

I assume a microcoil - what guage of wire - how many wraps - what is the overall resistance of the coil? One thing I have noticed in my own personal testing is that the flavor gets progressively lighter with higher resistance coils. The folks that have difficulty with muting generally are clearo users that use the 2.4 ohm coils - the "bold, rich, creamy flavor" tends to emerge on the lower reistance heads (1.8ohm, usually). This is with standard fixed voltage ego style devices (not your set-up, but for everyone's reference).

With regard to the Kayfun - reviews really vary. Personally, I had an convo with a regular on Nu-Vapor yesterday about how he liked the bakery vapes (CLS, CB, and GCD) in his Kayfun. I have (literally) half a dozen Kayfun devices, and have tried HUNDREDS of builds with ALL the NT liquid - and I still don't like anything but Gravity and Betelgeuse in the Kayfun. My conclusion - I prefer the bakery vapes in a dripper. Now, the guy I was chatting with came to the exact opposite conclusion... that he preferred the fruit in the drippers, and the bakery vapes in his Kayfun. I don't know why I mention this except to highlight that, despite how much I despise saying it, taste really is subjective... so YMMV.

I confess, all I get from CB in my KFL+ (AFC wide open, .9ish ohm micro, organic cotton wick) is burnt caramel. It's a super hot (too hot for my taste), burnt caramel mess (to my palate). CB, for me personally, really shines in a dripper... my personal "best CB setups" tend to land on a duel microcoil build (like a Trident, or Omega, or an Igo-W), on a fresh 18650 (mechanical mod), with the reistance somewhere between .4-.55 ohms. It's a safe enough range (with most batteries), and the flavor (to me) is about as good as it gets.

Oh the Kayfun front, my personal sweet-spot for most of the liquid is slightly less than 1 ohm (on a mechanical mod), microcoil, organic cotton... and AFC adjusted to your personal taste/draw preference.

If you would likely provide a list of potential atomizers, and your relative comfort level with building (let me know what gu Kanthal you have at your disposal, etc)... I'd give you a setup that will be likely to work!

2pak brings up a salient point - CLS and CB (in particular) are very steep dependent. That said, the liquid rolls out with various levels of steep time... if I were able to make a connection to a specific order number I could tie your bottles to an internally tracked lot number and give you the exact mix date (for your reference).

Presently, the 6mg CLS is really "young" - and the 18mg CLS and CB has almost a 2 month pre-steep on it... there is soem variance there that I can shed light on.

On a "flavor strength scale" I get about a 8/10 on CB, and a 9/10 on CLS (depending on steep time). Spot on Silense. Both will get "stronger" - "richer" - "more decadent" with time and patience... but give the ammt of pre-steep time that's gone into the bottles, they should be plenty "strong"

I got the CLS and CB and both where tasty from the get go ..as time goes by the eggy taste subsided and the flavors have leveled out nicely..never muted though..

Several people have noted that the 'eggy taste' has a tendency to fade. I'm not sure I notice that as much as the vanilla extract seems to intensify with time (maybe takes over the eggy element?) Good thought here Roger!

Hi again everyone,

I appreciate everyone's response on this. I noticed the Nicoticket community is quite active and helpful, so I appreciate everyone's input. Clark, here's what I currently use as my "go to" setup which usually seems to do well as a jack of all trades for the liquids I use most often. I use 28 gauge Kanthal at 8 wraps on a screwdriver tool that is slightly larger than a 1/16 drill bit. This usually ends up around 1.2-1.3 ohms when I build. I was doing lower ohm builds on it, but found that 1.2 seemed to be the sweet spot with the Kick 2. I have 26, 28, and 30 gauge wire on hand at all times. I also have a Patriot and an Igo-L that I use for dripping. I have not tried it on a dual coil build with the dripper at this point. These were both 6mg liquids. Before I read all this, I figured I might stick them in the steep lair for another month and revisit them. I refuse to give up on them because I've read way too many excellent things on this juice and my bloodlust for custard knows no boundaries. Oh and for the record, I was order 7837.

Regardless of the outcome of these liquids after some extended steep time, I'm still going to check out your other flavors in the future. You don't win that many awards without doing so much right. I really like fruit vapes as well, so I see some stuff that I'd like to get my hands on. If you have any questions for me, let me know. I'll see if I can't getting around to doing some dual coil action on a dripper this weekend and see how it goes with a freshly charged 30A 18650 (perhaps without the kick).

Thank you again everyone for your input, suggestions, and help.

I haven't received my NT order yet but can confirm that for me the flavor is always peaked on an RDA. I have a.5 coil on an IGO L and a dual coil at 1.5 on an Igo W. The W goes on a VAMO with stacked 18350's and the L goes on a Nemi with an 18650. Everything else I own is unused except for a PT 2 mini which I use out of the house. My Kraken and other RB tanks and I30 are collecting dust.

Check the cotton wicks if that's what you're using to ensure they aren't too big and blocking flow. The other thing you might want to try is if you're batteries are rated high enough, to do this, pull the kick and try some vapes on a low ohm coil. Not suggesting not to protect yourself but just to see if your missing something with the Kick controlling wattage. If you notice a big difference and like it, you can get a fuse for protection, instead of the Kick and high quality batteries like the orbtronic or sony 30 amps.

Before you try this though, research the batteries you have to make sure they are safe. .05ohm, if I remember correctly, should have 20 amp batteries.

I agree with you Kent that on a Kayfun the bakery juices don't quite hit right, like they do on a Low ohm dripper. The fruit juices taste wonderful and perfect in them and prefer over my drippers. The bakery's still taste real good in a KFL+ dont get me wrong, just not what they have the potential to do. Though, I do find Naki's blend (50/50 CB,CLS) hit's perfect in a kayfun at 1.3 coil IMO. It's all so subjective. Bottom line, have fun and try out the juices on different set-ups, builds and find your "sweet spot". To me that really is half the fun.

Ok, so I "get it" now. 2 more weeks in seclusion and I was running out of juice. I figured I'd give the Nicoticket one last try. What a difference a few weeks makes. I'm using a .8 build in a Kayfun and I'm getting all the rich creamy custardy goodness you can ask for. I'm really enjoying this juice now. So I guess for me, it just needs more time in the steep dungeon after ordering it. I'm going to try the other juice next week and see how it's getting along.

I'm very happy with it, and glad I didn't give up on it.

The Igo-L is one of my go-to devices for purposes of testing. I'd ditch the kick and wrap the 28gu kanthal to the tune of 5-6 wraps, strap it on a fresh 18650, and let it rip. I never quite understood the logic/reasoning behind a kick... to me, the whole purpose of a mech is to regulate the wattage using the resistance of the coil. I guess I understand that it helps the vape get "consistent" and alleviates issues with voltage drop, but to me it takes something away from the vape also (most notably, extremely high wattage and great flavor). I'd rather rectify the issue with a batter case and a couple spare batteries ;)

Do you have either the Igo-L or the patriot drilled out? ;)

As one of the posters below suggested, less is more when inserting the cotton.

Nothing against nt at all but I just rcvd cls, creme brulee and the virus and thought they were too strong. sold them off. prefer more vg and a more subtle taste I guess.

it's all good PT - this kind of highlights the truly subjective nature of vaping. Testing the same liquid on the same device, one person will say it's too strong, or too sweet. The next person will say it's just right on both dimensions... and a third person won't taste anything. ;) I never really "give up" on any liquid (even ones I don't produce) - I just continue to try various combinations of build/atomizer/devices that can deliver to my personal preferences. The worst case scenario is to drop any liquid in 1 atomizer, once, and then leave it for dead because it didn't hit on the first attempt. Based on your laundry list of gear in your signature, pt91, fair assumption you probably tried the liquids in one or more devices and they didn't hit for you personally - and that's okay!

Thanks for giving them a shot, regardless!! As a heads up, the new "near zero" offerings (currently avail in CLS and SDC) are in MAXVG, nicotine not added intentionally, with flavor boost... you may find them more suitable to your personal taste!

with your customer service and honesty I absolutely would try more. i am not easy to please when it comes to juice I guess. I even find that my adv taste very different in each set up and there are a couple that it just doesn't work in. Look fwd to giving it a go again soon.
