Muted flavours

Hi,

Vaper from South Africa here, I have been vaping for just on 11 months now, have not had one single cigarette since then, yay me!!

Question i have is the muted flavors of e juice. I am finding that I cannot find any e juice that does not have a muted flavor, I have tried quite a large variety of different brands that are locally available in SA, but have yet to find anything that is WOW.

Most tobacco flavors taste like soap and give me a headache after too much use. the fruity flavors are really muted. I can only assume that for each person it is different, however i have yet to find anything that gives me an abundance of flavor.

Anyone else experiencing this? Suggestions on kit or juices that bring the wow factor in?

Thanks

various, I have I taste VV Battery, normal Ego-C battery and a nemesis mod, Tanks I have are Kanger Mini both versions, Protank 2, Unitank and i recently purchased a 6 ML Tank and I am using cartomizers in it.

I have bought various setups to determine if cartomiser is different to clearomiser, stronger batteries, different Ohm coils.

Juices tried are Liqua, Hangsen and two local makes from two local suppliers. One thing though most flavors are predominantly more PG than VG.

I have never heard of those juices. Many juices are terrible.

I am not familiar with the juice availability in your area. But if you can get some Five pawns, or suicide bunny I would try those. Those are some top level juices, and have great flavors.

As far as your setups, I haven't used a cartomizer that I liked. But then again I haven't used many. Those kanger tanks don't give the best best flavor, it will be decent enough.

Put your nemesis aside for now until you start getting into rba / rda. Mechs are really used for coils 1.0 ohm or less. Trying to use a 2.5ohm coil for example on a mech won't draw enough wattage. Your itaste vv battery is probably best for your tanks.

Try some new juice, get a new coils (I like the 2.2 for the older kanger single coils, with a basic vv battery), and setup your itaste vv and your mini protank.

But really I suspect your juice here is the issue.

I experience this also. I am very new though, so I suspect I will have to try alot more juices until I find what works. So far I have only used Virgin Vapor stuff, and sadly, for me, it doesn't thrill me. That is just for me of course, they have enough followers they don't need me. I have 5 new juices coming, maybe I'll get some flavor from one of these. I've also wondered if my taste buds are dead from 30+ years of smoking, maybe I'll have to order from places that offer extra flavor shots, really bump the flavors up to crazy levels for a while until things start to come alive again. Right now, juice just taste like hot air with a hint of flavor way in the back.

The vast majority of clearomizer tanks are going to mute flavors. They depend upon tiny silica to wick juice to the coils. If you are a moderate to heavy vapor they just won't be able to do the job adequately.

The cartotank should provide better flavor and more consistancy than a clearomizer. The entire metal core is filled with wick material. The vast increase in surface area allows for more efficient juice transfer to the coil.

Best flavor that I have experienced has come from a Kayfun-style rebuildable tank atomizer.

I noticed a huge difference when I started using a RDA. It really brings out the juice flavors! Also you can make your own juices exactly how YOU like them! I'm so glad I started making my own juice! It's much easier than you think and you can make it to your perferred taste! And exactly what you like. Not to mention it saves loads of money!:D

So, basically, it's either your juice or your tank. I'm no expert on tanks, but there are a lot of variables on juice. Some of the brands you mentioned come from China, and most of us try to avoid juices made there. I don't know what you can get, where you are, that's more trustworthy. Then you get into PG/VG ratios, which can also affect juices. Are you cleaning and replacing the coils in your tanks? They do have a shelf life. Also not everyone tastes things the same way. For one a flavor is intense, for another dull. Some companies will let you order extra "flavor shots." Good luck!

I'm having the same problem.....bland juices after only a week and a half. I've been buying locally but ordered three trials from Virgin. I feel like my atomizer/coil is part of my problem. I'm using the newbie eGo with a KangerTech Evod tank. My atomizer/coil is KangerTech 1.8. I really like my little set up at first but I can tell it's not going to keep me long. I'm constantly have to clean up juice, switch tanks on my two batteries, change coils about every 2-3 days...ugh!! I loved my juices at first but they've just gone sorta bland like you said in the beginning!

IF your going to get into any rebuilding, get yourself a little Squid RDA. Its a mini version of an octopus RDA. Get that, some 30 gauge kanthal and an ohm reader and your little ego battery will really shine at 1.4 ohms or so compared to what your using. Or if you feel like getting more into it, you can rebuild those evod coils, but it requires some youtubing to get it down

if you don't feel comfortable diving into rebuilding yet, i'd recommend trying out different juices on an hh.357. they're a little pricey (20 usd/each, not sure what shipping to sa would be...), but you're not going to get much better flavor on a rebuildable than on an hh.357.

regarding flavors, i don't know of any that are less "muted" than pink spot. i loved their juices when i first started vaping, but now that i've got my taste buds back they're mostly too strong for me.

Thanks for all the feedback, will look into getting a HH.357, the reviews seem to be very positive. Getting juice into SA is hit and miss as customs appears to confiscate at times and other times not at all. Most of the juices here appear to be from China (I stand to be corrected) I clean all my tanks after each filling and replace my coils when their time is up. Will see if I can get that sample pack from Pink Spot to try out.

Once again thanks for the feedback

I just may look into this. I'm so OCD and I know what I'm using isn't going to cut it. I figured I needed to get my juice right (no heavy chest) and then I could venture into changing the tank, etc. Thanks!!

You can keep buying all the new stuff you want trying to find the perfect setup, but glass Kanger tanks should be performing just fine.

Have you changed your coils recently? It's common that people get their first VV device, turn up the voltage, roast the wick/coil, or use them long past their expiration date and then wonder why their set up sucks (I did it too).
