So I just got a new mvp 2 in the mail and after 2 days of use I go to attatch the same tank Ive been using which is a protank 2 with the airflow control base, it works fine, I pick it up wont fire, check ohms its reading .3 when its a 1.8 ohm head I back it off a little bit check again it reads 1.8 ohm go to fire no luck check ohms says .6, I put it on my vamo works fine. I check the center pin and pull up slightly reattatch pt2 and it works fine for a few drags then the whole process repeats.

What I dont get it is how is if it is the center pin on the mvp how is it getting pushed down without me tightening the tank any further. It works then stops have to pull it up itll work then stop I dont understand that. If the tank was pushing it down then it would stand to reason that it would still make connection but a different tank may not.

Is there anyway to fix this?

Innokin has a nasty habit of fitting their center pins too deep to begin with... as much as .020" deeper than what might be considered an average of around 0.155". They were suppose to have corrected this at the beginning of the year, but.....

You can return it under warranty, or if the warranty has expired, you can file, mill, grind or otherwise machine down the chromed brass 510 collar (you may have to file in new air grooves too) down until you have the 0.155" average pin depth. You may have to machine down the beauty ring as well to match the 510 collar height. :?:

i don't use the beauty ring at all, just gets in the way and will not let you see if you have a leak. i took a dental pick and went around the outside of the center post, sticking it in a little and pulling it up all the way around the post. has stayed in place ever since. my buddy's did the same thing and i applied my 'remedy' and his works perfect now also. just go slow and don't pull up too much at a time since IDK how they are fastened inside of the unit, but there is a good amount of play to pull them up.
