I gave my MVP 2 Shine to my mom a while back and today she brought it back to me with some kind of error. When tank is attached (she's using a mini protank 3) pressing ANY of the buttons activates the battery on what seems like a high setting (even though it's not set that high). I pressed both little buttons to see if it read the atomizer and it says NON, then fires the battery indefinitely, until you unscrew the tank to stop it. I tried using my aerotank 2 and same behavior. When she first had this happen she didn't think to unscrew the tank and it just fired continuously until the whole thing got really hot. This seems like it's not supposed to be happening and it's probably going to set her purse on fire. So I'm probably gonna chuck it.

But just in case. Do any of you guys have ideas about what might be happening? Seems like something internal is mixing up the buttons, because the little P and U buttons shouldn't even be able to activate the battery like that right? Is this easily fixable or would i have to open it up (not happening)

any ideas for this poor lil battery?

It sounds to me like there is a short in the device somewhere that is causing it to auto-fire. The only real way i can think of to fix it would be to pop it open and go rooting around in the guts of it(which you already said isn't happening). If it were me, I would deem it a total loss and just look at getting another device. Look at it as a reason to upgrade to something else.

that's what i was thinking. i checked t see if perhaps something got bent and the tube part of the coil head thing was touching the side of the tank but this doesn't seem to be the case... particularly since the issue happens with any tank i put on it. what a shame, i did like this cute battery. I'm not comfortable opening it up if it's going to randomly turn on like that though. the only other times i've attempted battery/button surgery have been on some unfortunate ego c twists.... they did not make it :p

i think the price on the mvps have gone down some since we bought it so it's not a huge deal. thanks for advising :)
