I am in the market for a new mod and I am debating between the MVP 3 and the 50 watt istick. I actually never owned an MVP but I have the 20 watt istick and love it. I don't know that I would need the 50 watts right away but I kind of like the idea of having them just in case. On the other hand I really like the idea of the built in charging cord of the MVP. I look forward to any thoughts or suggestions.

Although you may not need that wattage currently you have expressed yourself you like having them in case you wish to explore with other attys which I really think is smart and a good way to avoid having to buy new devices unless you want to. With that being said I would like to throw in another option: IPV Mini V2. It has 70w compared to the original 30 and the battery can be replaced which I really like. You then can just swap out the battery if it is experiencing issues or you keep it for a long time. It features the same form factor and size as the original which I really like, I think it is probably a bit bigger then the I Stick but that doesn't bother me as it is still really small compared to others on the market. In fact I think its the smallest device kicking out more then 50w on the market although I could be wrong. I have been using mine for three days now and can see it being my go to device due to the small size AND the amount of watts it can push. I like small mods but sometimes I just need more then 30w or 40w. If you just want a bit more wattage I would say the Sigeli mini 30w is right up your alley. Its around the same size as your current mod but the build quality as well as the electronics are really solid. If you want more then triple your current devices wattage my recommendation is the IPV Mini 2 and if you just want a bit more my recommendation is the Sigeli Mini 30w. If you want one of the best devices on the market (IMO) my recommendation is the VS DNA40. While very pricey it is hard to beat a VS DNA40 IMO.

I need to tell you this in case you don't know and please don't take it as me being a "know it all" or whatever, I am just trying to pass on info that I have gathered from here because I want to help as I have been helped a lthough you probably know the following info anyways. is really smart to use IMR high drain batteries in our devices. The I Stick batteries are apparently IMR high drain 18650 unprotected cells but I know I cant be sure and I have heard from respected and smart members on here that they are lipo batteries which I WONT use. They could be high drain 18650s but I just cant be sure so I will not be buying it. I like using Sony VTC4s in my devices and the IPV Mini V2 allows you to use YOUR battery which is why I am recommending it to anyone in the market for a mini mod.

Pretty good points but I do need to step in for the defense of the lipo. Everyone here preaches battery safety and the same holds true with lipoly's. I have over 25 that I use in my R/C hobby. They are all over 5 years old and pull way more power than any AW/IMR will ever be capable of. Someone keeps posting this bs vid of a lipoly exploding. Any battery will violently detonate when pushed that hard. even VS uses lipoly's so how bad can they be. The jellyfish mod has low voltage built in so their lipolys aren't over discharged and also a cut off circuit for charging. Although 53w is a little strange. I'm heading down to my B&M to check out the jellyfish soon it relay interests me. I'm going to power my DNA 40 box with 2 lipo's but then I also have the correct charger for them. Ismoka hasn't had any instances their lipo's venting and the 50w should be fine.
Anyway I do want to play with the IPV Mini V2 first if it is what I think it's going to be my big IPV is gone and I'll sell the DNA box at the flying field.

As I said, I wasn't trying to sound like a know it all or whatever. The simple fact for me is I wont use a lipo in any vapeing device although I have heard both sides to the argument I simply wont do it. The I Stick 50w might not even have lipo batteries in it though and if it was proved true that it had a good 18650 high drain IMR in it I would be buying it. I herd it has two IMR 18650s powering it, I also heard it has lipos powering it. I am fine and wont say a word if anyone wants to use lipo batteries however I really respect badditude and his thoughts and me personally, I wont do it. But lets not turn this into a battery thread and btw the IPV Mini 2 is simply outstanding. I still grab my VS DNA 40 more but I don't vape my RDAs at 40W I usually vape them at 60-150w so the IPV Mini 2 is nice for some of my drippers that I like at lower wattages. I got another IPV Mini 2 on the way that's how much I like it. The form factor AND 70w make it one of my favorite boxes.

No one has an MVP3 or iStick 50w, so no one can really say. If both live up to past versions, it'll basically win reliability vs the iStick 50w except price, wattage, and mAh with form-factor being a toss-up. So it most likely will come down to features vs reliability Decide which you care about and you'll have your answer, but again it's all theoretical. :)

If you need a mod go for it, but do remember even with a solid-on-paper-design, 1st runs of products are the most likely to have issues and it'll be a bit until people can tell you what they are.

FYI

@ 150W...

1 li-po is safer than any 2 18650 IMR or INR cells currently on the market.

@ 150W, you're at or beyond the safety limit of ALL 18650 cells... even in pairs.

I can't speak to the 50W, but the 20W istick uses an 18650 form factor LiPo. I was talking with a redditor about it. He tore his down and looked up the part number of the battery. That would explain the slight difference in length of the cell also.

One of the reasons people are scared of LiPos is the fact that R/C guys use them to the ragged edge of the envelope with regards to discharge and charge rates. LiPos dream about the way we treat batteries in terms of dis- and re-charge. I'll leave any further discussion of this to people that know better, I know I have no qualms using them after discussing this with R/C nerds.

and most people don't consider the fact that young children do so as well... and often have more battery knowledge than most of the user base here...
and...
that's one reason that people abuse the snot out of them to make them vent on youtube... by charging a 4 volt cell to 12 volts with straight car battery power... so the potential of outright abuse is understood... and sometimes for fun and sensationalism.

if it was a nimh rechargeable, instead of a small burst with a hot flame, it would be a mild explosion with heated, corrosive acid projectiles... and there's a lot less potential energy capabilities in a nimh than any comparably sized lithium cell of any chemistry...

consider the fact that instead of a lipo with a sealed pouch, the batteries we use have a hard, metal shell, and it's obvious the potential for explosion is higher with our cells. it's the heat that's the kicker in li-pos..
