It's putting out 12.5w it's just when you run the mod in VW it will only go to 11w I had the itaste svd and wondered the same thing an this would be the answer I'm sure someone can explain all the electrical engineering behind why it does that but I believe it's because since it can only go so high in voltage that if you there on a high resistance coil it would only be able to push out 11w safely anyway I'm probably wrong and someone will correct that but it's definetly pushing out 12.5w at 5v with a 2ohm coil

I've wondered about this too. Also if you can get lower than 6 watts using VV mode.

It has an amp limit of 3 or 3.5 (can't remember) but in VW mode it will only go to 11 watts. But in your example it's not going over that amp limit. I guess the question is will the wattage or amperage limit kick in first, does the wattage limit even apply in VV mode?

Hmm... maybe test it the voltage it's putting out with a multimeter somehow. I'm not sure how though, mine doesn't have the little clamps and it seems like it would take 3 or 4 hands to do it.

The mvp 2 has a wattage cap of 11w but I can put it at 5v on a 2ohm coil, on an ohms calculator that says it's outputting 12.5 w. So my question is, is it actually putting out the 12.5w or will it still be capped at 11w?

The mvp2 can be set up to 11 watts in wattage mode; that does not mean it has a wattage cap of 11 watts.
This sort of thing applies to all mods wattage and voltage specifications; there is a range you can set for volts and a range you can set for watts.
When you set volts, the available wattage range is something internal to the device; when you set watts, the available voltage range is internal to the device, and may be a wider range than what you can set.

Yes it can go lower than 6 watts by using vv mode.
Set the lowest volts, and use the highest ohms.
