The evic ranges from 3-5V adjustable. And 2-11W adjustable.
It is my understanding that by setting a desired wattage the device will automatically adjust voltage to that setting. Let's say I'm using a 3ohm coil and want to vape at 5.5V or higher (as one would want), I cannot do this because the device only goes to the lowly max of 5V.
Will raising the wattage to a higher setting such as 11W at any point give me any more than 5v? I'm hoping I am understanding this correctly.

is the evic simply a better unit only when you're using lower ohm coils? thus requiring 5v or less?

Yes, you're correct. In the vw mode, your device detects the resistance of your atomizer and adjust the voltage to give you the power you've selected.

Now, if you have/want to go to 11 watts, you could try using a lower resistance atty, like 2.5Ω.

That said, I don't think that 5 volts is 'lowly.' :) I never go much above 4 volts on my APVs, but then again I prefer to vape around 6 watts, generally. I use my 3.0Ω atties at 4-4.5 volts tops...

Why would you want to go to 11 watts, if you don't mind my asking? Just curious.

Run mid range coils, 2.2Ω to 2.6Ω coils...then it won't be an issue

If all you have then don't know what to tell you...I usually vape at 6.5 watts though

This might help

Highest resistance coil for 11 watts at 5vdc is 2.4Ω-2.5Ω~

no the wattage/voltage limits are hard set and you cannot go past them. no matter what you set, the device should stop at whatever limit it hits first and nothing can change that.
