If someone in my house ever texted me from another room they would get a very loud, in person response!!! That being said, I have never lived anywhere I didn't have to lock the house/car door behind me. Even camping makes me nervous- grew up in a city and I like locks!

When I moved to WI people thought I was crazy because I locked everything. I thought they were crazy because they didn't.

By now, I know my first assessment was accurate. lol

Wyoming is still pretty safe (at least in the small part I am in)...my husband not only leaves his car unlocked, but also leaves the keys hanging in the ignition. We only lock the house when we are going to be gone overnight somewhere and if we remember at night before bed (though it is more habit then necessity.)

My daughter was in an accident 3 years ago and after she was released from the hospital she needed assistance to get in and out of bed and whatnot for a few weeks. It turned out to be easier for her to text us "I need to pee" in the night rather than try to call out to wake us up.
