How is every one on this fine Saturday? Seems like this is the first Saturday in a long time where the sun is actually shining!
Congrats to Natalia, Zelda and Tezcatlipoca! Hope everyone is enjoying their Saturdays. I am way behind, but I had a teddy bear hamster too, named Vanilla, that looked just like this one:
. He was lovely, not like my sister's (Chocolate) who was a biter, lol!
Awwww! How adorable! I used to have guinea pigs, too! I thought they were way more fun as they are larger and easier to hold. They would actually sit on my lap. They liked to crawl up to my shoulders and nibble on my hair though.... lol!
I had guinea pigs, too. They were so fun to have as a kid. Their squeals and grunts were so funny, and they really are adorable. I still have to stop and look at guinea pigs and hamsters in pet stores. I was never fond of rats and gerbils though. I think it was the tails, lol.
I actually tried Guinea Pig (cuy) in Peru. Not half bad, but a little weird eating such a cute critter.

Awwwww mine was that color, but much more hair!! a regular fluff ball he was.
I like guinea pigs too! Jup easier to play with, and I love the noises they make.
How old are the kids? They aren't prone to just biting for no reason, but they certain can.
I'm with bookworm, never like gerbils. Too bony and the tails were freaky
In my experience, they are a lot less likely to bite than hamsters. Mine would sometimes nibble my fingers a bit, but it didn't hurt. They were just obsessed with food, and I think they just always hoped I had more carrots or greens, haha. But they do have sharp teeth and can bite if they are handled roughly or incorrectly, and you can definitely get one with a bad attitude, like any other animal. I think if you found one that let you handle him/her in a pet store and was kept healthy and happy, you would be ok.
If you give them some wood toys and timothy hay, it will help keep their teeth less sharp.
