I am back... Sorry to say, mom did pass, but at least we had some great moments while in the hospital. She was sent home with hospice on July 13th and passed on the 21st. I was fortunate to actually be holding her hand at the time she passed. I miss that beautiful lady!

Thanks to everyone for the encouraging words before I went back home to be with her.

Just in case anyone out there is considering a job in home health care, I have one word for you. Poop.

Half of your time will be spent cleaning it off of something, documenting when it happened or encouraging an octogenarian to produce it.

Think long and hard about this before you apply for a job as a home health aide.

it's the same at care centers.
I don't know what kind of "person" would apply for a job helping old people and not expect urine or BM's.
not to mention that you can't obtain a CNA without knowing about it.
