Just in case anyone out there is considering a job in home health care, I have one word for you. Poop.

Half of your time will be spent cleaning it off of something, documenting when it happened or encouraging an octogenarian to produce it.

Think long and hard about this before you apply for a job as a home health aide.

Whether you are a parent with kids or a health aide...... it is all part of the job.
Thankfully there are folks like Somejerk who take in in stride and enjoy helping others through their work.

It's probably a good point though. I have heard a fair amount of people say they didn't know it would be what it is. So I would suspect their are many more and it is the patient who then suffers. Even if not intentionally.

But yes, thank God for people like SJ

Sponge test? I've never had or even heard of that. Is it similar to the cheek swab?

It's to collect saliva to test and tastes terrible.

I know it has to be done but always hated that.

I'd rather pee in a cup than suck on a nasty sponge.
