My 1st PV

I bought my 1st PV, a Black SB from Altsmoke.

Customer service & shipping was excellent and Rob answered a few questions I had, thank you. I not your average smoker, I smoke cigars both big ring guage traditional (tatuaje, padron, etc..) and smaller ones you buy in the pack--no filter-- and yes, I inhale and have been for 15 years.
I go hard or I don't go...

I will try---- no scratch that -- I WILL kick the habit now that I have my Black SB. Now I can't say I won't smoke a cigar from that island down south every once in awhile :), but I am going to kick the pack a day habit.

Funny my taste buds must be "deader" than I could have ever imagined. I have 6 different juices in front of me from another supplier and while I taste it a little, I really don't taste--taste it. Each one tastes kind of the same to me.

I can't compare the SB to other devices, because it's my first device of any kind; however I wanted to publicly thank Rob and Altsmoke for the service and the product.

Kind regards and a prosperous new year to all

Give your tastebuds and nose a couple of weeks to recover from the tobacco product:) You'll be amazed at how much more you'll taste and smell:)

Welcome to the forum. You made an excellent choice on your 1st PV. IMHO unless something falls out of the sky other PV producers of alot of catching up to come close to the SB. If it is your first PV and getting same flavor. Clean atomizer, every atomizer has some kind of oil inside if you failed to blow the oil out will take a little while to get the nasty out. Ok after that you want to clean between flavors, you will still have a hint of past flavor even after a simple cleaning. This can be good if thinking about mixing flavors. Also your stronger flavors like coffee should have there own atomizer, really hard to get coffee out of atomizer without a heavy cleaning (soaking in your chosen method, check the forums and form your own opinion how to clean) The SB with its stock 3.7 batteries likes liquid make sure you have liquid on the atomizer if you are using a cart with filler add a couple of drops in the atomizer to get it started. At 6 volts you will direct drip only. Failure to keep atomizer moist will end its life way to early. Hope this helps you out.

Thanks everyone for the welcome and tips.

I only use 6V because I figured 3.7 was a waste of time since I inhale cigars. I don't smoke regular cigarettes because a cigarette to me is like smoking air. I went into this with the frame of mind knowing this wouldn't be smoking like I knew it so I tried to "prepare" myself mentally.

I've had 6 pulls total off my regular cigars(in the last 3 days) and you guys are right .. after vaping all day the regular analogs are nasty .....truly nasty tasting.....so progress.

Been dripping, making sure the atty stays wet, and just trying to get a routine down.
So far so good. Will do that, keep a atty for each liquid I like.

Seems like my only hurdle will be coffee..I'm a coffee nazi. Specialty coffees from small roasters alot of Yemens and Kenyans. Need a vape that would go well with my coffee (maybe a VG based for thicker vape?), cigars and coffee go so good together. Vape and coffee well.... not so much IMHO. I've been researching coffee liquids(not cream, specialty flavor w/a coffee, but straight a coffee) and will give those a try maybe that will do the trick.

Might give this SB to my mom if she likes it and wants one, then get me another SB. Probably get a chuck and gg as well if I keep with the positive progression.

Cheers for the positive support, I'm sure you guys know it helps alot!

I use a cart @ 6v and have no problems, you don't HAVE to drip, just pay attention to your atty:) Haven't lost 1 yet:)

Couldn't agree more. I didn't think I'd be doing flavors when I ordered my 510. 2 days later I ordered a 5 pk sampler and now I LOVE them!

Been dripping, making sure the atty stays wet, and just trying to get a routine down.

Been just under a week for me, and I find myself dripping more & more.

Seems like my only hurdle will be coffee..I'm a coffee nazi. Specialty coffees from small roasters alot of Yemens and Kenyans. I have the coffee e-liquid for you. Jeff over @ whatupecig tells me this flavor tastes like, and I quote, "...John Wayne coffee. Like you cooked it over an open fire in a well used coffee pot." It's called 'Luscious Laurins Coffee'. I went with the cappuccino instead and it's perfect for me. And I have an ungodly expensive coffee 'center'. Brews European style with a 'crema' on top. NOT cream. This is a layer of pure coffee that floats. Very strong. I love it. Does that make me a coffee nazi too?

I went w/the 510 for my 1st. I've researched mods. The SB seems the clear leader. If I had to describe to someone what I'd want in a mod, I'd say " a rock-solid american made vapor monster! " Enter the SB. So if your Mom doesn't want it, pm me & I'll give you my address. Seems fair, I give you my address, you give me your SB. :w00t:

Thanks for that!
Will definitely check out whatupecig and see what's up on the coffee.
I've smoked about two full cigs since I got my SB. So I think I'm well on the way to kicking the habit.

Yeah when I learned of PV"s, I did about 2 days of research hitting all the forums to see what's up on this ecig thing and decided on the SB. Couldn't be happier. Going to try out other devices though cause it's a cool little "hobby", and then I can pass my older devices on and turn others on to a little healthier lifestyle.

Man I just got it, can't even give it to Moms yet....:D

Creama .. ah yes .. crema..
Nazi? hmmm... I don't know.

what type of grouphead is on the machine? Is it hx or doubleboiler-- Is it PID'd or did you did you use a Scace device to determine brew temp, so you can temp surf before you pull the shot?

That's awesome man! Keep it up! (any chance you've ordered another SB and are now ready to send your current SB my way?) :p

Ahh man you have a Jura superauto.. man that's tight.

How are you going to have a Jura and ask for my SB? Trade ya! :D

Ignore all that greek because your coffee center dials in automatically for you. If you are enjoying your coffee now, then just enjoy it, and don't go any deeper down that rabbit hole. It's a never ending quest of of fine tuning every part of the process until you hit coffee nirvana and as you know the equipment is not cheap.

peace!

Ah. I get it now. Man that sounds like alottta crap to do just for a good cup-o-joe. They have way way cheaper units now. Not Jura per-say, but they exist. Couple hundred. 1 cup European brewing . Add water, beans & push a button. Creme city!!:thumb:

And I'll give ya the Jura for say..... 20 SBs & a good handful of 510 attys. Deal?

Vape on, java on!
