Hey guys, first I want to say thanks to everyone in this forum who recommended the Velocity rda for beginners.

I ordered my first rda over the weekend and it just arrived. I ordered a tobeco velocity and velocity mini with some sweet black Friday discounts. The first thing I did when I got home from work was open the package waiting in my mailbox. I gave them a good soak and washed them off real good then tried my first build.

I started with the full sized velocity since the mini needs more time to soak. I used a 5 wrap of 26ga and 32ga Clapton wire, reading .34. Wicked the sucker as best I could and fired it up. I started at 40 watts and brought it up to 75 where the flavor and vapor is outstanding! Wow. I now understand the hype.

I'm posting pictures of my first build on it. If anyone has any suggestions to improve my coils or wicking, I would love some feedback.

Glad you like your new setup. One big thing I would suggest is to wrap the coils a lot closer together and spend a little time pulsing them to make sure they are all touching and glowing evenly. I'm sure you pulsed it but just spend a little more time perfecting it and then you'll have less chance of a hot spot/leg. Let us know how the mini velocity comes out, I have both of them also along with about 25 other rdas, rtas and tanks. It's really becoming a sickness lol. A sickness I love though

Thanks for the recommendations. I definitely pulsed the coils but for some reason I didn't take pictures of that. It was my first time working with Clapton coils, so my second pair on the mini came out much better. The mini is great but I like the full size better. On the mini: the top cap is really stiff when adjusting the afc, it definitely smelled foul before I washed it (not a huge deal), the paint job is a little sloppy, and I need to unscrew the drip tip to adjust the afc. Also, the little notch on the top cap that clicks into the base, keeps detaching when I adjust the afc. It's easy to fix but a mild nuisance. All that said, it's still a great RDA and I'm glad I got both.

I've been off the stinkies for about 8 months now and have accumulated a little collection myself. Right now I'm using my tfv4 mini during the day and switching to the Velocity when I come home. Throw a little One hit wonder's muffin man and I'm in vape heaven. My Man is really good too.

I've wanted to try muffin man and my man but never pulled the trigger. I usually use my diy juice and my new thing is cuttwoods bird brains. I deffintly prefer the normal sized velocity also and my mini one seems to leak a little bit. My Aeolus is my go to though it was my second rda and is by far my favorite, it's a great flavor rda that doesn't leak a drop no matter what you do. I've wanted to grab the tfv4 mini but I had picked up the crown and now I'm in love with the crius v3. That crius rta is amazing by far the best rta I've ever used. Keep it up with the claptons. Did you build your own or did you buy the roll of UD Clapton wire or something like that?

That's awesome, I was thinking of picking up a crown too but I've spent way too much the last month or so. The RBA deck on the tfv4 mini left me wanting more, which is why I picked up the Velocity. The coils are using the UD Clapton wire btw. Although I just bought a set of multiple GA kanthol to make my own, I just wanted something to compare it to.

When you start making coils it really becomes addicting very quickly lol. In the past month I've bought just about 3000 feet in multiple gauges and types of wire. I started doing claptons then fused claptons and caterpillar track now I've stepped up to staples and staggered fused claptons. My next coil to do is alien Clapton and I almost have it down I just always get 2 inches then it overlaps or screws up somehow. It is a lot of fun and it's nice to look at what you've made and see all the hard work that went into it.
