My 2 Grads!

Shawn graduated today..I am one proud G'ma! He was the only student to recieve a baseball
scholarship at his school and to our surprise he was in the top 20% of his school. We had to leave the hall really fast because another school was coming in to graduate. So we went to a restaurant to celebrate..it was 90 degrees and I didn't have the heart to make him put his gown on!
The heat and my meds made my face swell..I look like a (Very) happy face!

I do have a little rant..I couldn't believe the way people dressed! Shorts and tees..sundresses with no strapes and no bra..guys in sleeveless shirts! I was shocked! I just believe you should show respect to these kids and the gravity of the situation. We kind of overdid it..but that's our generation. I saw the same thing at Aunt Norma's visitation and service. Not quite so bad..but still. Rant over!

I agree there is a lack of respect at these events these days. Parents and grandparents hooping and hollering, things like "you did it Johnny" in the middle of the ceremony. It makes you wonder.

I agree with the lack of respect. When I go to my kids (9 and 6) functions at school I wear a nice dress (if it hot it might be a sleeveless dress but I sure as hell wear a bra!) and I mean I'm 29, and most of the people "my generation" aren't quite so respectful of themselves, their children, or others. Hell if my fiance and I go out to dinner to a sit down restaurant he hates that I really try my best to get him in something other than a T-shirt. I might like to dress sexy sometimes, but there's a time and place, and children's events (even big kids lol) isn't it.

Rain..I dress in house dresses (in the house) shorts and tees and jeans. We go to a restaurant I dress accordingly, But for a school function? I dress up!I don't want to embarass my kids or grands..that's the kind of thing that will scar them for life...my gran came to my graduation in a halter and mini skirt! lol

Here's todays Graduate! My little grandson graduated from Elemntary and will be a middle schooler next year! He made Principals honors list and has delusions of grandeur right now...lol This is at his after party in the school lunch room!

Jake decided to grow his hair out..he like Shawns hair, and Shawn seems to do alright with girls..but jake isn't sure girls are worth it yet.

Please do Rain..I love pictures, it makes us seem real to each other! Right now most of you would know me on the street..but I wouldn't know you!
I can tell you a room full of 11 year olds is a trip, there was a DJ and he was playing lot's of dance music from the 60's to today. The girls were in a bunch dancing like Hannah Montana/Lady GaGa (what is she anyway? A cross dressing madonna?)
The boys were trying to dance in another area..more of a contact sport really...LOL
