I built a custom mod .. see my pics folder on my profile... I am running a 18650 3.7 volt Ultrafire batter 3000Ma ... the atty i am using is Here DSE-510 High-Voltage Atomizers [DSE-510HV] - $4.99 : ValueVapor.com, Discount Electronic Cigarettes and e-Liquid

I measured the Voltage at the 510 connection disk.. its 4.1 volts
when i hit the button to vape you can hear the thing Fry , and If i hold the button down on my mod for my that 2 seconds i get a mouth full of Nasty Burned atty grossness... Blaaaaaahhh , its just cooking the atty .. I look at the element and its bright orange like a fire burning down below..
so what do you think is going on ? Bad atty ? or Miss labeled atty from Vendor? what other high volt atty's should I try or buy for this 510 mod?

Also are you putting enough juice in this Atty :Dripping' or trying to use the cart ? and also why would you use a 4.5ohm Atty @ 3.7V if it where truly a 4.5ohm Atty @ 3.7v you would hardly get any vapor I think, something is flat wrong, get your volt meter and check your Mod then your Atty, this should tell you whats up !

Use a multimeter and check the ohms of that atty. I'll bet it is mislabeled by a long shot from the sounds of it. If you don't have a multimeter, try any used atty you've got that you know is working and see if that doesn't make a difference with your new mod. On my 3.7 volt box mods I usually run a 2.0-2.5 ohm atty, cartomizer, E2s, etc.

I don't do HV and stay with 3.7 volt systems. Remember, a fully charged battery will be around 4.2 volts so you have to account for this. I believe the eGO though is around 3.4 volts so this has to be taken into consideration should you have one. I also like to keep my wattage around 5.5-7.0 but you may like a bit more.
3.7 volt at 2.5 ohm = 5.476 watts
4.2 volt at 2.5 = 7.056 watts

As far as getting the HV attys I'd probably look here:
Welcome to IkenVape

For regular and LR attys look here:
Welcome to MadVapes LLC

There of course are others but these are the two I use and have had good luck with both.

Sounds like a bad atty or you aren't keeping it wet. Even at 1.8ohms and 4.2v it shouldn't be cooking the juice or glowing bright orange if it's wet after only 2 seconds. Try another atty.

Also...and this is a long shot. Check your battery voltage fresh off the charger. It might be overcharging and if it is don't use that battery.....toss it.

just for some random info. I use hv attys on my 6v mods and if I put it on my 3.7v mods I get barely any vape. I can hold the button in for 10 sec and it will never glow. I use the lr attys on my 3.7 great vape, I think the best so far, as far as flavor goes. But, I am glad you resolved your issue, and got an atty to your liking!
