I have to once again say Thank You to NicoWolf for her inspiration and madvapes for the parts and instructions, which I couldn't have done these without.

I've been very happy for the past month using my 3.7v NicoStick and it has been providing me with an average of 8 hours of use per battery and a consistently great vape. This one has a red LED.

I only wanted to build my own 5v unit to say that at least I tried it and all I can say is that it really makes a difference! It only takes about a 2 to 3 second vape and it give a much greater throat hit and a lot more vapor. I won't know for some time how long the pair of 14500's will last in this 5v mod, but I can be sure that if I'm in the mood for some strong, effective vapes, this will do it. It's cranking out exactly 5.3volts. This one has a green LED.

Thanks to everyone whose input and posts have made these mods very easy to build.

Nice work short.
I have been using the 3 AA boxes for my 5 volt mods. I was thinking of using a 4 AA box on my next one, and using the 4th battery space to recess the atty, or hollow it out for atty/tip storage. Has anyone else tried this? I have seen the nicosticks with the atty partially recessed. There just does not seem to be enough room to recess the atty on a 5 volt unit in a 3 AA box. Transport with the atty attached seems to make the device very vulnerable. I thought about using velcro to hold the atty to the side of the 3 AA enclosure, but heat could be a problem. I thought mayba a couple of clips to attach the atty to the side of the box during transport, but they would probably catch on everything. Any ideas?

I know that with some thought you will find something that will work for you. I remember seeing one guy that made a sweet mod that had a "flip" type atty/cart that folded down and clipped into a storage clip when not in use, a really sweet idea.

I did remember seeing another great mod one member did and finally found the thread. Go here and go down the page to post #7 and take a look at what he did. You'll see that at least he got a great storage solution from it too.

Hope this helps.
