My 510 attys are bare! Are they safe???

I have been vaping for about 3 months now and it has saved me from my addiction to real cigs. I do have one question that I have not seen posted here. On 2 of my 510 attys everything came out. There is just a bare silver thingy left. They still work, very well in fact, but not the best taste. My question is, is it safe to still use them??????????

If you look down into your atomizer, and don't see wire mesh, only an exposed piece of metal standing up, it sounds as if the wire mesh has broken or fallen off the bridge somehow.

Have you tried to clean, or poke around inside the atomizer prior to noticing this? I'm not sure how it would happen spontaneously

Some people purposely remove the atomizer bridge (the mesh and the metal bridge) and use the atomizer for dripping.

Can you give us some more information? How long have you been using the atomizer? What have you done as far as maintenance, if any to it?

Without the wire mesh for wicking, it's gong to have a more burnt taste if you use carts. Fine for dripping though.

What I think happened when I first started vaping(my know it all self) I didn't bother with instructions. I am sure some of you guys can relate to that.LOL Well I believe I fried the mesh by not keeping it wet, so now I have the bare silver piece left. I did have to pick all the half burnt mesh out. After surfing this forum I found out what I did, but was unsure if they were safe to use so I haven't. I got new ones. But like I said they still work.

Actually there is no metal standing up. It is just flat.

ohhh! Yeah - a lot of people remove it on purpose and use the atty to direct drip. It's safe, I'm not sure how effective it will be if you use cartridges though.

As long as it's still working for you - vape on
