Are all 901s like or is there something with mine? I only got one so nothing to compare to *lol* :p0-

Hi Fatilis,
I use 901's and cartomizers on a 905 mod, and there is little to no resistance. Simple test, remove the atty from the battery and inhale, see if is has the same resistance. If it does then it might be the atty. If it does not then it might be the batteries. As the auto batteries have far more resistance than the manual ones do. Since half the air is going in the hole on the side of the atty and the other half is activating the auto switch where as manual batteries do not have this restriction.
Also check the hole on the side of the atty as some can twist since there is an inside sleeve it can misalign and cover the hole partially. Over tightening can cause the outside sleeve to twist slightly causing a reduction in air flow. If it is partially closed then push a pin in the hole and try realigning the two holes.
Hope this helps
Dan

I'm with Dan on that. The only other possibility is the cartridge. On some 901 carts the floor of the cart well is not well fixed and can move sometimes blocking the flow. (Usually on 'D style carts where the top looks like a D and there is just one air channel to the mouth piece.)

When I detect a hard draw I'll take the cart and check it, and then 'tail pipe' the atty on the batt - drawing over the atty chamber without a cart. It will be one or the other or both, including what Dan says on the hole in the atty body.

I guess there could be a case where there is so much gunk in the coil area for the air channel through there to be obstructed, in which case, clean the atomizer.
