Well I've spent hundreds on the wrong products and spent hours trying to get things to work properly. Its gonna take a while before i break even. But what I've learned is, while e-cigs are amazing, they are ALL manufactured poorly.

510 is the best model when you first get it. But you will get frustrated with it after a few weeks. Vapor production will slowly diminish and it will become harder to draw. Recharging and switching batteries is a CHORE that will also start to wear on your nerves. And frankly, the 510 battery is weak. It does have the best atomizer though.

Get a 510 kit, and if you're happy with it after a few days, get a battery mod and a bunch of spare atomizers.

You can get 510 attys for $5 a pop if you buy 25 or more at puresmoker.com.

You can get a great mod called the xhaler for around $100 (with necessary components) at nhaler.com. At 5 volts, this thing will give you a consistant hit every time and the battery will last the whole day. You may not want a big bulky e-cig when you're out in public. Just keep your two regular 510s on you at all times. And a bottle of liquid. Charge everything when you go to bed and the whole day you wont have to recharge anything.

Dont bother refilling carts. You put too many flavors on the filling and it starts to taste nasty. The filling can get stuck to your atty and ruin it too. Just take the filling out and drip 2-3 drops right on the atty everytime you notice the flavor fading or tasting bad. This sounds like a hastle, but its pretty easy.

Its frustrating getting inconsistant hits. And its frustrating trying to figure out why. Sometimes its the atty, sometimes its the battery. Even with a brand new atty and battery ive struggled to get satisfying hits. With the xhaler, and probably any 5V mod, I get a big hit every single time. If it ever diminishes, i just pop on a new atty. Im not constantly rotating charging batteries. I just carry it with a bottle of liquid and two 510s for emergency (if my batteries do die) or if im at a bar or something. Frustrations are over. No need for passthroughs, multiple chargers, car chargers, PCCs, etc. 510 batteries truly are garbage.

Then there's liquid. I recommend Dekangs from healthcabin.net. Its $9 for a 30 ml bottle with a good variety of flavors that taste great. If you dont trust a chinese manufacturer, or if you want to make your own, I recommend DIY. Works out even cheaper and you can make different strengths/flavors. I would shop for your nicotine juice at freedomsmokes.com and get your flavors from Lorannoils.com. I use pg based nic juice and mix it with some VG and flavoring. Since using VG in it, I get more vapor and no morning throat soreness. Its a bit of a chore to make it, but I just make a months supply once a month with 5-6 different flavors.

Total cost for all this is high. But you'll be set for a long time and wont spend hours upon hours fiddling and troubleshooting like everyone seems to do after a month or so. I know I did. Some batteries are simply not as good as others. Some attys last a month, others a couple days.

Total cost:

510 kit: $40
two extra batteries: $22
25 atomizers (year supply): $125
Nic juice and Flavors/Supplies (year supply): $250
Xhaler and batteries: $100

comes to $537.....for a WHOLE YEAR with much less hassle.

Any 5V mod should be fine. Xhaler is cool because you can switch to 6V if you want or even 7.3V if you switch the batteries. But i just use it at 5V and i get massive vapor. Clouds. I dunno what you mean by lung it, but i feel it fill my lungs. Very satisfying. Battery mod is the way to go.
Cool Thanks. Ya lung hit. It never seems to fill the lungs like a smoke. The hit seems to stop at the throat. I know I am inhaling it, Just dont feel it though once it gets past the throat:rolleyes:

That might just be the nature of vaping. Im not sure i feel a hit in my lungs like i do my throat. I guess everybody has different tastes. I dont even like a harsh throat hit. I need to feel it though. As long as i feel it, exhale a nice cloud, and get my nicotine Im satisfied. Good flavor is nice too. I dont even use tobacco flavors anymore. Right now im all about chocolate flavor and cheesecake.

The nice thing about the mod is the consistency. It can drive you mad battling with a 510 (and other models are worse) trying to get one big nice hit. You think maybe the atty needs to warm up, maybe the battery is dying, maybe i need to blow the atty out, etc etc etc. With a mod you get as big a hit as you want. Most people dont buy them till theyve been vaping a while. I think it would save people frustrations if they just bought one off the bat.

You definately sound like you have the answer. I just wish that I had the extra money for one right now. Is the 510 atty the best way to go with a mod?

I am interested in getting the Xhaler too. I was reading on the Xhaler thread that you have to mess with twisting the cap to get different voltages. Is it an easy process? And if you want all voltage choices you have to buy the 3.7 and 3.0 batteries, correct? I am thinking this or the Chuck, but I don't think that the Chuck can do 5V, is that right? I want that infamous "sweet spot" 5V that everyone raves about.

thats what sets the chuck apart from other mod's,an 18650 battery 3000or2600mha at 3.7v vapes like a 5v mod with less stress to the atomizer!!

I would agree with this but have to say that both of these issues are completely resolvable with some simple routine maintenance. See the users guide for 510's posted on this distributors website. (have not ordered from them but find their videos crucial for newbies) Using the paper towel draining method for atty's once a week as well as their method for cleaning carts I have been able to keep my 510 operating as good as new (if not better). I spend maybe 10 minutes per week doing this.

And I would definitely refill my carts!! Currently have 16 flavors and can easily switch without the flavor yuck so long as I keep mints separated.

The same is true for all atomizers.
I suggest cleaning it at that point, others will suggest never cleaning it.

For many people, using a different filler material is a better option.
I suggest the Marineland blue foam filters or the AquaClear filters.
