Ok, I finally got my premium CoolCarts in, and after 1 not working at all, and drilling a bit too low on the 2nd which didn't let the juice in ...

My vaping experience is now better than ever :p

I used acetone and sand paper to remove the sticker and drilled a slightly larger hole than recommended - 5/64th drill bit - and higher up by a couple mm's. I filled up the tank w/ my favorite juice - Caramel Apple @12mg. I put the two caps on at the same time (which floods the carto ... this is a good thing to me. It enables the polyfil to be nice and saturated w/ new juice). I then dabbed the carto to remove excess juice and hooked up to my current BB at 6volts and ...

WOW is all I can say.

Yes, the CoolCarts run a touch cooler. Yes the larger hole is keeping the carto nice and saturated w/out any futzing around (w/ my original carto drilled at 1/16, I had to tip my pv down often to keep the poly at the right saturation level). And YES, vaping at 6volts is producing tons of vapor and flavor :D

I can now vape endlessly and mindlessly (for the most part). Every time I pick up the pv and take a toke, all the taste and vapor I could ever hope for is simply just there.

I'm really getting the hang of this AFS thing and has is indeed helped create the VERY BEST experience of vaping to date - after about 7 months of trial and error.

What a pleasure.

Now, really, the "only" thing left for me is to wait for Imeo to finish the slimmer AFS. I prefer holding a smaller-width pv ... it's easier to walk around w/ in my hand.

Thanks for letting me share

Carl

Yes we have been asking imeo for a slimmer model AFS that will fit the Grant (Which is a few mm slimmer than the TS) and I think he said he was going to do this soon. That will make my day certainly.

Glad you got it working the way you like it. It is excellent when you get it working nicely. Is nice when you can pick up your PV and just vape without thinking about adding juice or dripping.

somewhere out there......
interesting combo......... cartos and AFS.... I bet it hits like a ton of bricks... lol that rhymed... anyway i heard there are kr 808 cartos that are sold without the sticker.... but I wonder if the 510 cartos with be just as good with this kind of combo....and if they are sold without the sticker.

Also how do you guys get the metal shards out of the carto without messing up the mesh?

I don't worry about my shards. I think they just fly thorugh the air when I drill them.

Try a shopvac next to the drill bit when drilling.

I haven't had any shards to speak of when drilling cartos. I do brush the hole with a toothbrush a couple of times and run my finger over it to see if there are any burrs and file if necessary to keep the carto from cutting the o-ring when it slides over. I use the dremel drill press and set it to where I just barely get a clean puncture of the carto. Hardly any mess at all.

Ive also been using the coolcarts for several days now. They work very nice but I still prefer the Turbo Cartomizers as they seem to wick better and I like the sizzle and pop. I use 100% VG liquid though. Don't get me wrong, the V4L coolcarts work very well and I will always have some for when I run low on the Turbos. I have put the dremel away and will not buy any more drill bits though. I forgot who it was that said they use a finishing nail but I went one step further. I'm sure some others have too. I bought a center punch for finishing nails and out to the bench grinder I went and grinded a very sharp pointed tip on it. One pin pointed whack with a ball peen hammer and your done! No shards or drill shavings and no fuss no mess. I like the process much better and its fast. No more hassle. I have not ruined one carto so far. I eye ball the length because I have measured so many. Its not a precision ordeal anyway. You may want to try it and you may not...just thought I would pass it along for those that might be interested.....Happy Vaping friends!:vapor:

Sounds great but how do keep from crushing the cart?

Sounds great but how do keep from crushing the cart?

First off, the center punch tip is very hard and very sharp pointed. Remember I grinded a point on it. I only hit it with the small ball peen hammer hard enuff to punch a hole through it. Just start off off lightly. It may take a couple of light hits with the hammer..You'll get the feel of it. The carto tubing is much tougher than one would think. If you damage a couple of cartos at first learning how, its still cheaper than drill bits you will be buying. Just keep in mind your not driving railroad spikes in with a sledge hammer...;)

I haven't bought an AFS yet but I would like to pull the trigger. The information on this forum has been exellent so I am not going in blind.

My PV has a 901 connection so I emailed a company to see if their CoolCart cardomizers would fit my PV. They told me that while it would fit it would not work because there are no air holes. So the simple solution would be to buy a 901-808 adapter. I don't like adapters and in the case of the AFS it just seems like another place it could leak.

I understand about drilling a hole in the cardomizer for fluid flow. I was just wondering if I could drill a hole in the bottom of the cardomizer to creat air flow? Thanks.
